Introduction: Extensive efforts have been made to explore members of the IL-10 family as potential therapeutic strategies for various diseases; however, their biological role in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) remains underexplored.
Methods: Gene expression datasets GSE136825, GSE179265, and GSE196169 were retrieved from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) for analysis. Candidate genes were identified by intersecting differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the CRSwNP and control groups (DEGsall) with those between the high- and low-score groups within the CRSwNP cohort (DEGsNP).
Targeting the estrogen receptor (ER or ERα) through competitive antagonists, receptor downregulators, or estrogen synthesis inhibition remains the primary therapeutic strategy for luminal breast cancer. We have identified a novel mechanism of ER inhibition by targeting the critical interface between its DNA-binding domain (DBD) and ligand-binding domain (LBD). We demonstrate that mitoxantrone (MTO), a topoisomerase II inhibitor, binds at this previously unexplored DBD-LBD interface.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was carried out on data from advanced NSCLC patients who received either PD-1/L1 inhibitors combined with anlotinib or PD-1/L1 inhibitors combined with bevacizumab as second-line therapy. Clinical outcomes, including Overall Survival (OS), Progression-Free Survival (PFS), Objective Response Rate (ORR), Disease Control Rate (DCR), and Adverse Events (AEs), were compared between the two treatment groups.
While the gluten-free diet (GFD) is primarily used to treat celiac disease (CD), recent research suggests it may also offer benefits for autoimmune-related diseases (ARDs), though findings remain inconsistent. This study aimed to investigate the potential protective effect of a GFD against ARDs by Mendelian Randomization (MR) analysis. Utilizing data from over 500,000 samples from the UK Biobank and other publicly available genome-wide association studies (GWAS), MR analysis revealed a significant negative causal relationship between GFD and the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis (RA) (OR = 0.

The present retrospective analysis included 48 elderly patients (aged ≥65 years) diagnosed with advanced SqCLC who received anlotinib in combination with NVB as a second-line therapy between January 2021 and December 2023. The primary endpoints assessed were overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR) and safety profile.

However, there is a lack of clinical evidence regarding ondansetron. This study aimed to explore the efficacy and safety of ondansetron in patients with malignant tumours who received chemotherapy drugs with a moderate-to-high emetic risk.

At first, an intruder is assigned to each defender to perform a one-to-one interception by solving an integer optimization problem. Then, the intrusion-defense game is formulated in a receding horizon manner by designing the objective function and constraints for the defenders and intruders, respectively.

Methods: This study, conducted at Sichuan Agricultural University with 300 students in 2022, investigated how urban natural infrastructure impacts physical and psychological well-being during the pandemic. Different aspects of natural infrastructure, such as thermal comfort, air quality (negative ion concentration), and noise and light levels, varied in their positive effects on students' health.
Bacterial infections and antibiotic resistance represent significant global public health challenges, necessitating the development of innovative antibacterial agents with targeted delivery capabilities. Our study utilized macrophages' natural ability to recognize bacteria and the increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) at infection sites to develop a novel nanoparticle for targeted delivery and controlled release. We prepared bacteria-activated macrophage membranes triggered by Staphylococcus aureus (Sa-MMs), which showed significantly higher expression of Toll-like receptors (TLRs), compared to normal macrophage membranes (MMs).

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are commonly used probiotics, but most strains used for cats are not derived from cats, leading to reduced efficacy and poor adaptation to cats. The objective was to identify LAB with promising probiotic potential specific to cats.

In this study, we explored the efficacy and safety of combination treatment of albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-ptx), anlotinib, and PD-1/L1 inhibitors for such special population.
Methods: A total of 55 patients diagnosed with ES-SCLC and BM were enrolled in this retrospective study.
Fused silica with surface structures has potential applications in microfluidic, aerospace and other fields. To fabricate structures with high dimensional accuracy and surface quality is of paramount importance. However, it is indeed a challenge to strike a balance between accuracy and efficiency at the same time.

Introduction: The effectiveness and tolerability of triple therapy, which combines regorafenib, a programmed death 1 (PD-1) inhibitor, and transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), were compared to dual therapy consisting of regorafenib and a PD-1 inhibitor in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients with advanced HCC who underwent second-line therapy from March 2019 to June 2022 at multiple centers. Patients were stratified into two groups: dual therapy (comprising regorafenib and a PD-1 inhibitor) and triple therapy (consisting of regorafenib, a PD-1 inhibitor, and TACE).
AlN, with its ultra-wide bandgap, is highly attractive for modern applications in deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes and electronic devices. In this study, the surface and cross-sectional properties of AlN films grown on flat and nano-patterned sapphire substrates are characterized by a variety of techniques, including photoluminescence spectroscopy, high-resolution X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. The results indicate that different sapphire substrates have minimal impact on the photoluminescence spectrum of the epitaxial films.

Current methods for identifying and locating recurrent lesions using prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-based positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, which relies on androgen levels, often result in diagnostic delays. Therefore, the development of an androgen-independent radiotracer is critical for the early identification of recurrent lesions.

Carbonaceous materials have been considered the most promising anode in sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) due to their low cost, good electrical conductivity, and structural stability. The main challenge of carbonaceous anodes prior to their commercialization is low initial coulomb efficiencies, derived from a lack of an efficient technique to reveal a fundamental comprehension of sodium storage mechanisms. Here, the direct observation of quasi-Na metallic clusters in carbonaceous anodes during cycling through in situ XRD is reported.

However, its insufficient change amplitude of resistance with compressive strain generally leads to a degradation of shielding performance during deformation. Here, an innovative loading strategy of conductive materials on polymer foam is proposed to significantly increase the contact probability and contact area of conductive components under compression.
