In this study, layered chitosan-based magnetic nickel ferrite NiFeO/chitosan (CS-LDO) composites were synthesized. The results show that under optimal conditions, 98 % of methylene blue (MB) and 92 % of xylenol orange (XO) can be simultaneously degraded within 120 min in the CS-LDO/persulfate (PS) system, and the removal rates of total organic carbon (TOC) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) can reach 67.32 % and 74.

Objectives: Here, we investigate the neuroprotective role of Xe in a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)- and hypoxia-ischemia (HI)-induced white matter damage (WMD) model.

Neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) has been reported to induce apoptosis in neonates. We, therefore, analyzed the ability of Bax-inhibiting peptide (BIP) to provide neuroprotective effects during hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD). Seven-day-old wistar rat pups (n = 198) were randomly divided into a sham-operated group (Group S, n = 18), saline group (Group C, n = 90) and BIP group (Group B, n = 90).
