Prussian blue analogs (PBAs), as a classical kind of microporous materials, have attracted substantial interests considering their well-defined framework structures, unique physicochemical properties and low cost. However, PBAs typically adopt cubic structure that features small pore size and low specific surface area, which greatly limits their practical applications in various fields ranging from gas adsorption/separation to energy conversion/storage and biomedical treatments. Transcription factor OsGRAS2 regulates salt stress tolerance and yield in rice. Plant-specific GRAS transcription factors are involved in many different aspects of plant growth and development, as well as in biotic and abiotic stress responses, although whether and how they participate in salt stress tolerance in rice (Oryza sativa) remains unclear. Oligoguluronate lithium (OGLi) was prepared for the purpose of enhancing the anti-ulcerative colitis (UC) activities of OG, in which lithium (Li) is coupled with the C6-carboxyl of G residue. The therapeutic effects of OGLi on dextran sulfate (DSS)-induced UC mice were investigated, and oligoguluronate sodium (OGNa) and lithium carbonate (LC) were used as contrasts. The effects of OGLi, OGNa and LC on the treatment of UC mice were studied by monitoring body weight change and evaluating colon length, the disease activity index (DAI), histopathological examination and gut microbiota regulation.

The gut microbiota contributes to host health by facilitating nutrient uptake, digestion, energy metabolism, intestinal development, vitamin synthesis, and immunomodulation, and plays an important role in the growth and reproduction of the animal itself. Considering the paucity of research on the gut microbiota of wild snakes, this study focused on bamboo pitviper () populations from Anhui, Guizhou, and Hunan, with multiple fecal samples collected from each population (six, five, and three, respectively). Total microbial DNA was extracted from the fecal samples using metagenomic next-generation sequencing and differences in gut microbial composition, abundance, and carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes) were analyzed and compared among the three populations.

Two pairs of chiral enantiomers D/L-Dy(PMP)·2HO (D-1/L-1) and D/L-Yb(PMP)·2HO (D-2/L-2) were synthesized by the introduction of enantiomerically pure D/L-PMP (PMP = (phosphonomethyl)proline) ligands into lanthanide coordination chemistry. The chiral characteristics of these products were confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction, second harmonic generation (SHG) measurements and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. These complexes are composed of 1D chains constructed from lanthanide ions with a trigonal prismatic coordination geometry and PMP ligands.
