Bullous Sweet's syndrome is a rare variant of the inflammatory neutrophilic dermatosis characterised by painful bullous skin lesions, fever, leukocytosis and a neutrophilic infiltrate of the dermis. The condition may be classified according to aetiology into classical (idiopathic), malignancy-associated and drug-induced. Neutrophilic infiltration occurs in response to a systemic insult.

We describe a case of an 18-year-old woman with congenital sensorineural deafness who presented to the dermatology clinic with asymptomatic thickening of the skin over the palmar aspect of her hands and feet. An examination revealed palmoplantar keratoderma of the palms and soles of the feet with no pseudoainhum. Her father wore a hearing aid and his deafness had been thought to be acquired.

We describe a case of contact dermatitis to a phone cover, which was compounded by secondary allergic contact dermatitis to topical creams used. The phone cover was advertised as being composed of silicone only. Patch testing with the cover material confirmed the diagnosis.

This study examined the degree to which different policy-based whole-school smoking actions were associated with cigarette smoking among 4,697 ninth-grade students in 31 schools in Perth, Australia. Smoking is banned in all schools in Western Australia. Cross-sectional self-report surveys measured student smoking prevalence and intensity and its correlates.
