Results: Compared with the recurrent parent genes, in the lysine synthesis pathway, the gene pyramiding lines (, , and ) revealed that the gene encoding aspartate kinase (AK) was up-regulated and promoted lysine synthesis.

Employing the synthetic control method, we analyze data from countries on five continents that implemented such policies in early 2020. Our results indicate the overall effectiveness of these policies in mitigating the impact of COVID-19 yet reveal significant variability in their outcomes among countries.

Silicon-based anode materials with high theoretical capacity have great challenges of enormous volume expansion and poor electronic conductivity. Herein, a novel dual carbon confined SiO/C@void@Si/C yolk-shell monodisperse nanosphere with void space have been fabricated through hydrothermal reaction, carbonization, and in-situ low-temperature aluminothermic reduction. Furthermore, the O/Si ratio and void space between SiO/C core and Si/C shell can be effectively tuned by the length of aluminothermic reduction time.

To detect associated variants, various tests have been designed to contrast genetic dissimilarity or similarity scores of certain subject groups in different ways, among which the most widely used strategy is to quantify the difference between the within-group genetic dissimilarity/similarity (, case-case and control-control similarities) and the between-group dissimilarity/similarity (, case-control similarities). While it has been noted that for common variants, the within-group and the between-group measures should all be included; in this work, we show that for rare variants, comparison based on the two within-group measures can more effectively quantify the genetic difference between cases and controls.
