The transcription factor FoxO3a plays a crucial role in the process of cells adapting to various stress conditions. Multiple post - translational modifications and epigenetic mechanisms work together to precisely regulate the activity of FoxO3a, influencing its subcellular localization, stability, interactions with other proteins, DNA - binding affinity, and transcriptional regulatory capacity. Under different chemical signal stimuli and subcellular environments, the activation of FoxO3a triggered by oxidative stress can initiate diverse transcriptional programs, which are essential for the body to resist oxidative damage.

For ensuring the precision of ZEN analysis in food safety, ZEN standard substance is critical. However, the preparation of standard substance usually needs complex chemical synthesis steps and large amounts of organic solvents consumption.

This study investigates the regulatory effects of zinc and selenium, two beneficial elements, on rice quality and yield formation, with a particular emphasis on their impact on photosynthetic physiology throughout the rice growth cycle. The findings indicate that the interaction between zinc and selenium enhances the net photosynthetic rate of rice leaves, primarily by modulating stomatal movement.

It has been reported a total of above 170 million tons per annum of edible oils consumption were consumed worldwide. Safety and quality of oilseeds and edible oils cannot be ignored, which can pose risk to human health and cause agro-economic loss.

Here, we developed a dual-active site hierarchical hollow CuS@MIL-100(Fe) (CuS@MIL) nanozyme through an easy-to-operate process. The resultant CuS@MIL nanozyme exhibited a 5- and 3-fold increase in catalytic efficiency relative to CuS and MIL-100, while the color development time was shortened by more than 6-fold.

Aspergillus, a genus of fungi, is capable of producing mycotoxins, with aflatoxins (AFs) and ochratoxins being its principal types. Aspergillus mycotoxins can contaminate a wide range of crops and their derivatives, such as maize, wheat, rice, minor cereals, and peanuts, thereby threatening food and feed safety.

In this study, a multifunctional metal-organic frameworks-mediated colorimetric/photothermal immunosensor was established for the quantitative detection of DBP. Firstly, a highly sensitive and specific monoclonal antibody (mAb), designated 3A5, was prepared with a sensitivity IC value of 16.

The use of antigens for double or multiple testing of mycotoxins is easy to cause environmental pollution, and surrogate antigens have become necessary. The small molecule and susceptibility to genetic modification of nanobodies can be used to develop alternative antigens for mycotoxins.

A rapid and accurate method to simultaneously detect 18 PAEs in edible oil was developed and applied to evaluate daily exposures in Hubei. By using ultrasound-assisted extraction and GC-MS with deuterated isotopes, we improved extraction efficiency and detection accuracy.

The typical pollutants-aflatoxin B (AFB) and benzo(α)pyrene (BaP), and kitchen waste oil-are significant hazards in edible oil consumption. Herein, we developed a dual-readout lateral flow immunoassay (tdLFIA) for the multi-quantitative detection of AFB, BaP and capsaicin (CAP).

Olive oil is an indispensable part of the diet in Mediterranean regions, and is appreciated worldwide for its sensory characteristics, combining a fine aroma and pleasant flavor with the high nutritional value of specific chemical compounds. However, making rapid measurements of phenolic compounds is a major challenge for the olive oil sector. The development of a new method based on near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy may be considered an important advance for the sector, as it is rapid, low-cost, non-contaminant and non-destructive.

However, the role of ferroptosis in severe acute pancreatitis(SAP) has not been fully elucidated.
Methods: We established four severe acute pancreatitis models of rats including the sham control group, the SAP group, the Fer -1-treated SAP (SAP + Fer-1) group, the 3-MA-treated SAP (SAP + 3-MA) group.
The coexistence of multiple contaminates in the environment and food is of growing concern due to their extremely hazard as a well-known class I carcinogen, like aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and benzo(α)pyrene (BaP). AFB1 and BaP are susceptible to coexistence in environmental water and edible oil, posing a significant potential risk to environmental monitoring and food safety. The remaining challenges in detecting multiple contaminates include unsatisfied sensitivity, insufficient targets selectivity, and interferences in complex matrices.
