The lipid-based endocannabinoid (eCB) system regulates a host of developmental, physiological, and pathological processes in the mammalian brain, and recent studies have suggested that dysfunction of eCB system may contribute to the neuropathology of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, specific contributions to ASD-related developmental, cognitive, and behavioral phenotypes remain largely unexplored. The current study was designed to investigate if enhancing eCB signaling by blocking 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) hydrolase can mitigate ASD-like behaviors in a mouse model, and if such effects are associated with suppression of inflammatory signaling, oxidative stress, or neuronal apoptosis.

Background: Hematoma expansion is a determinant of poor outcome of intracerebral hemorrhage but occurs frequently, especially in warfarin-associated intracerebral hemorrhage (W-ICH). In the present study, we employ the warfarin-associated intracerebral hemorrhage (W-ICH) rat model, to explore the efficacy and potential mechanism of glibenclamide pretreatment on hematoma expansion after intracerebral hemorrhage, hoping to provide proof of concept that glibenclamide in stroke primary and secondary prevention is also potentially beneficial for intracerebral hemorrhage patients at early stage.

Every year vast quantities of silver are lost in various waste streams; this, combined with its limited, diminishing supply and rising demand, makes silver recovery of increasing importance. Thus, herein, we report a controllable, green process to produce a host of highly porous metal-organic framework (MOF)/oligomer composites using supercritical carbon dioxide (ScCO ) as a medium. One resulting composite, referred to as MIL-127/Poly-o-phenylenediamine (PoPD), has an excellent Ag adsorption capacity, removal efficiency (>99 %) and provides rapid Ag extraction in as little as 5 min from complex liquid matrices.

Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a devastating cerebrovascular disease with high mortality and morbidity. In recent years, a large number of studies have focused on the mechanism of early brain injury (EBI) and delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI), including vasospasm, neurotoxicity of hematoma and neuroinflammatory storm, after aSAH. The mesoporous poly(N,N'-methylene-bis(1-(3-vinylimidazolium)) chloride), labeled as PDVIm-Cl, with double anions (Cl) and low monomer molecular weight was synthesized and applied in the adsorption of anionic dyes (acid orange 7 (AO7), sunset yellow (SY), reactive blue 19 (RB19), congo red (CR)). Due to the mesoporous structure, abundant Cl and positively charged imidazole rings, the poly(ionic liquid) (PIL) exhibited superior adsorption ability towards anionic dyes. What is more, the RB19 adsorption by PDVIm-Cl could achieve the highest capacity (2605 ± 254 mg g) which was nearly twice higher than the maximum adsorption capacity of the previously reported materials.
