Background: Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is a chronic, immune-mediated disease characterized by the destruction of insulin producing cells and persistent hyperglycemia. At present, the drugs for type 1 diabetes mellitus can reduce blood glucose rapidly and effectively, but there are risks of hypoglycemia, large fluctuation of blood glucose, and chronic complications. Related research found that compared with continuous hyperglycemia, blood glucose fluctuations are more harmful to the chronic complications of diabetes.

The results showed that slight membrane fouling occurred after 120-day experiment with an observable increase in membrane resistance R20 from 1.5 x 10(12) m(-1) to 1.
