Aim: To investigate the effects of hyperuricemia on periodontitis and the underlying mechanisms by establishing combined animal and cell models.
Methods: A hyperuricemia mouse model was established by potassium oxonate injection, with sodium carboxymethylcellulose treatment serving as controls. Both models were treated with or without periodontitis induction (n = 10/group).
Objectives: To explore the association between hyperuricemia and having periodontitis.
Materials And Methods: A representative cross-sectional dataset of 10,158 adults was extracted from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2009-2014. The association between hyperuricemia (the primary exposure) and having periodontitis (outcome) were evaluated using weighted logistic regression models.
Objective: To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine(TCM-WM) for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis-associated interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD).
Materials And Methods: An independent search of electronic databases (PubMed, Excerpta Medica Database, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, OVID Medline, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang Data, VIP Data databases, and China Biology Medicine disc) from inception to June 25, 2024 was performed to identify studies treating RA-ILD that used combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment compared to Western medicine. Two researchers independently audited each article, and the quality was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Assessment Tool 2 and the modified Jadad.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative joint disease in the elderly, while oxidative stress-induced chondrocyte degeneration plays a key role in the pathologic progression of OA. One possible reason is that the expression of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), which acts as the intracellular defense factor against oxidative stress, is significantly inhibited in chondrocytes.
