Article Synopsis
  • Osteoporosis is a bone disease characterized by weakened bones and increased fracture risk, but traditional diagnostic methods are costly and complicated.
  • A new point-of-care system has been developed that uses a sensor to detect osteocalcin, a biomarker for bone metabolism, which allows for easier diagnosis.
  • The sensor shows a high sensitivity for osteocalcin with a detection limit of 100 pg/ml and confirmed specificity, making it a promising tool for identifying osteoporosis conditions.
