Keshan disease (KD) is an endemic cardiomyopathy with high mortality. Selenium (Se) deficiency is closely related to KD, while magnesium (Mg) plays many critical roles in the cardiovascular function. The molecular mechanism of KD pathogenesis is still unclear.
