Introduction/aims: MScanFit and StairFit are two motor unit number estimation (MUNE) methods derived from a compound muscle action potential (CMAP) scan. This study aims to compare MScanFit and StairFit MUNE values by applying both methods to the same muscles.
Methods: CMAP scans were recorded from the extensor digitorum brevis (EDB) and abductor digiti minimi (ADM) muscles.
Introduction: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) global pandemic has been the most severe public health emergency since 2019. Currently, the Omicron variant of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been the most dominant. The most prominent symptom of SARS-CoV-2 infection is respiratory.

However, there is no consensus on whether the use of antibiotics affects the diagnostic performance of mNGS. We conducted a prospective clinical study aiming to evaluate the effect of antimicrobial treatment on mNGS.

However, the fixed tokenization schemes and single-dimensional feature extraction and fusion in existing methods lead to insufficient global feature extraction in hyperspectral pathology images.
Methods: Base on this, we propose a multi-scale token divided and spatial-channel fusion transformer network (MT-SCnet) for MHSIs segmentation.
Aquaponics combines aquaculture and hydroponics, offering methods to produce fish and plants. However, optimization of its nitrogen transformation processes, which would lead to higher nitrogen utilization efficiency (NUE) and lower nitrous oxide (NO) emission, is still a daunting challenge. This study investigated these issues by using biochar and zerovalent iron (ZVI) with low (LD) and high (HD) doses.

Using a truncated fragment of the iron deficiency-responsive bHLH100 gene promoter, we screened the Arabidopsis transcription factor yeast one-hybrid (Y1H) library and identified the DOF family protein, OBP3, as a crucial component of the iron deficiency-signaling pathway.

Objective: To explore the value of applying multiple genetic testing techniques for the prenatal diagnosis of Turner syndrome fetuses with complex mosaic small supernumerary marker chromosomes (sSMC).
Methods: Chromosomal karyotypes of amniotic fluid samples from 5 030 pregnant women who had undergone amniocentesis at the Prenatal Diagnosis Center of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January to December 2022 were retrospectively reviewed. Three fetuses with complex mosaicism fetuses (carrying 2 types of sSMC) were selected as the study subjects.

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are attractive targets in human pathologies. Despite a number of efforts to target RBPs with small molecules, it is still difficult to develop RBP inhibitors, asking for a deeper understanding of how to chemically perturb RNA-binding activity. In this study, we found that the thiopurine drugs (6-mercaptopurine and 6-thioguanine) effectively disrupt CELF1-RNA interaction.

Herein, the glucose oxidase (GOx) and MnO nanoparticles co-modified multifunctional liposome of GOx-MnO@Lip was constructed for enhanced radiotherapy. Introduction of GOx would not only elevate the glucose consumption to starve the cancer cells, but also increased the endogenous HO level.

The unraveling complexities in programmed cell death (PCD), inclusive of apoptosis, autophagy, and ferroptosis, have highlighted novel therapeutic avenues. Our study focuses on deciphering how adapalene (ADA), a small molecule compound, accelerates the demise of MM cells via targeting their compensatory survival mechanisms.

However, how microtubules (MTs) participate in the process of dendritic remodeling remains elusive. Here, we reveal that calmodulin-regulated spectrin-associated proteins (CAMSAPs), a family of proteins that bind to the minus-end of the noncentrosomal MTs, play a crucial part in the development of MC dendrites.

A novel rhodamine-based multi-ion fluorescent sensor, RGN, was designed and synthesized for the highly selective detection of mercury ions (Hg) in ethanol and water systems, as well as trivalent cations (Fe, Al, and Cr) in acetonitrile and water systems using a two-step Schiff base reaction method. Nuclear magnetic titration experiments and theoretical calculations demonstrated that the sensor achieved the detection of the aforementioned metal ions through the fluorescence turn-on phenomenon induced by lactam ring-opening. Density functional theory (DFT) calculation results showed decreased HOMO-LUMO energy gaps and increased dipole moments, indicating the effective coordination of the sensor with the corresponding metal ions to form more stable complexes, thereby achieving detection objectives.

The combined anti-BCMA and anti-CD19 CAR-T cell therapy showed high clinical efficacy in several clinical trials for RRMM. We here conducted a meta-analysis to confirm its efficacy and safety.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFreezing stress can seriously affect plant growth and development, but the mechanisms of these effects and plant responses to freezing stress require further exploration. Here, we identified a NAM, ATAF1/2, and CUC2 (NAC)-family transcription factor (TF), NAC056, that can promote freezing tolerance in Arabidopsis. NAC056 mRNA levels are strongly induced by freezing stress in roots, and the nac056 mutant exhibits compromised freezing tolerance.
