Introduction: Percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) is a frequently employed technique for treating osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF). However, there is still controversy regarding whether PVP with different courses affects clinical efficacy. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the impact of different courses of OVCF on early clinical and radiological outcomes after PVP.

Results showed a rapid endothelialization of the target vessel was achieved at 1 month post-implantation. Although the lumen diameter loss and local inflammation were observed at the early stage, the stented blood vessel could gradually recover with time.

To address this issue, we developed a cost-effective and easy-to-operate carboxymethyl cellulose sodium-tea polyphenol (CMC-TP) ice coating to inhibit quality deterioration caused by these factors. The beef samples were characterized for various quality attributes, lipid and protein oxidation, and protein structure.

Mg and Mg-based alloys are considered the next-generation orthopedic implants for their excellent osteogenic inductivity, biocompatibility, and biodegradability. However, Mg-based alloy can initiate aberrant activation of osteoclasts and modulate sensory innervation into bone callus resulting in postoperative pain at the sequential stage of osteoporotic fracture healing.

The surgical hip dislocation (SHD) technique is a type of hip-preserving surgery aimed at delaying or avoiding THA. This study aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy of SHD techniques through femoral head fovea fenestration and impaction bone grafting for the treatment of non-traumatic ONFH.

Magnesium and its alloys have recently emerged in clinics as orthopedics implantable metals but mostly restricted to mechanical devices. Here, by deposition of calcium-based bilayer coating on the surface, a Mg-based composite implant platform is developed with tailored degradation characteristics, simultaneously integrated with chemotherapeutic (Taxol) loading capacity.

Herein, iron-based single-atom nanozymes (SAzymes) (Fe/NC) with exceptional oxidase-like activity were used to construct an immunosensor for CAP analysis. Fe/NC could imitate oxidase actions by transforming O to O radicals in the absence of hydrogen peroxide (HO), which could avoid complex operations and unstable results.

We investigated whether children who exhibited greater stress to social exclusion subsequently consume more energy and whether this predicts BMI 6- and 18-months later.

In this study, an anatomical brushite-coated Mg-Nd-Zn-Zr alloy cage was fabricated for cervical fusion in goats. The purpose of this study was to investigate the cervical fusion effect and degradation characteristics of this cage in goats. The Mg-Nd-Zn-Zr alloy cage was fabricated based on anatomical studies, and brushite coating was prepared.

In this study, a sandwiched composite coating containing a triclosan (TCS)-loaded poly(lactic acid) (PLA) layer inside and brushite (DCPD) layer outside was prepared on the surface of the Mg-Nd-Zn-Zr (denoted as JDBM) implant. degradation tests revealed a remarkable improvement in the corrosion resistance and moderate degradation rate.

However, their long-term coating stability and robust surface binding strength in physiological media remain challenging. Herein, a phosphonate-grafted, PEGylated copolymer on the hydroxyapatite (HA) surface is proposed to significantly improve the adsorption stability and thus enhance the biofunction durability accordingly.

Methods: The clinical data included 63 patients in the PVP group and 70 in the PKP group. The study assessed the pain visual analog scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), wedge angle (WA), local kyphotic angle (LKA), and vertebral height.
Nanomaterials-based immunochromatographic assays (ICAs) are of great significance in point-of-care testing (POCT), yet it remains challenging to explore low background platforms and high chromogenic intensity probes to improve detection performance. Herein, we reported a low interference and high signal-to-noise ratio fluorescent ICA platform based on ultrabright persistent luminescent nanoparticles (PLNPs) ZnGeO: Mn, which could produce intense photoluminescence at 254 nm excitation to reduce background interference from ICA substrates and samples. The prepared immunosensor was successfully applied in T-2 toxin detection with a remarkable limit of detection of 0.
