Although nanotheranostics have great potential in tumor immunotherapy, their effectiveness is often hindered by low immunogenic cell death (ICD) and inactivated immune responses in the tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment (TIME). Such vulnerability may lead to metastasis or recurrence, especially in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Addressing this challenge, the study presents a multimodal immunotherapeutic approach using a self-enhanced ICD copper (Cu)-based hollow nanogenerator.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFGas therapy (GT) and/or phototherapy have been recently employed as immunogenic cell death (ICD) agents for activating immunotherapy, whereas the effective activation of sufficient immune responses remains an enormous challenge in such single therapeutic modality. In this study, a near-infrared (NIR)-triggered programmable nanomotor with hydrogen sulfide (HS) and nitric oxide (NO) generation is well designed to achieve oncotherapy by cascading mild photothermal, gas, and reactive oxygen species (ROS)-reinforced immunogenic cell death. In brief, a gas signal molecule donor NOSH with HS and NO capable of on-demand HS and NO release was synthesized and then loaded into hollow mesoporous copper sulfide nanoparticles (termed as HCuSNPs) with an inherent NIR absorption and surface modification activity to obtain the programmable nanomotor (termed as NOSH@PEG-HCuSNPs).

We aimed to compare the utility of Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) 1.1 and modified RECIST (mRECIST) in RCC response assessment and clarify the tumor shrinkage pattern post-SBRT.

However, there are limited data on the efficacy of Tislelizumab in patients with mRCC. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of Tislelizumab plus tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) for patients with mRCC.

However, the inherent disadvantage of volume expansion in silicon-based anodes places significant challenges on the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) and severely degrades the electrochemical performance. Rational formulation of electrolyte, including its additives, is crucial in accommodating and optimizing the composition of the SEI and enhancing the cell performance.

This study is based on the accurate and rapid measurement of x-ray coronal imaging parameters in AIS patients by AI, to explore the differences and correlations, and to further investigate the risk factors in different groups, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the diagnosis and surgical treatment of AIS.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of 3192 patients aged 8-18 years who had a full-length orthopantomogram of the spine and were diagnosed with AIS at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2019 to March 2024.
Natural products play a vital role in human health because people find that they can reduce the incidence of many diseases, such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, researchers have developed many effective techniques for screening and separating active compounds from natural products. High-speed countercurrent chromatography is a unique unsupported liquid-liquid chromatography technology that has been widely used in the separation of natural products.

The two-phase solvent system consisting of n-hexane/ethyl acetate/methanol/water (5:4:5:4, v/v) was employed as stationary and mobile phases. Compared with single injection mode, both overlapping injection and continuous injection modes exhibited higher separation efficiency at the same sample loading capacity.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFConventional consecutive separation methods based on overlapping injection modes produce interactions between samples as the separation time increases. This will lead to a reduction in the purity of the target due to the gradual saturation of the stationary phase distribution. To enhance the purity of the sample preparation and separation efficiency, we devised a consecutive separation method under high-performance counter-current chromatography (HPCCC) utilizing co-current elution and overlapping injection.

Materials And Methods: This multi-institutional retrospective study enrolled renal AML patients who underwent partial nephrectomy (PN) or total nephrectomy after receiving at least 1 month of pre-operative everolimus. Imaging evaluations were collected before and after treatment, along with demographic, surgical, and follow-up information.
Owing to its ability to separate substances with a broad scope of polarities, exploring the three-phase solvent systems (TPSSs) with high-speed countercurrent chromatography is a topic of interest in separation science, and their retention volumes should be more concerned. This study primarily investigates the behavior of retention volumes while examining the isolation abilities of the TPSS in the technique above. We took standard compounds, including sophoricoside, Sudan red 7B, and rotenone, which have a broad range of polarity, for investigation in this study and separated them using different four-liquid TPSSs made up of water, acetonitrile, methyl acetate, and n-hexane (WAMH).

Human health is under growing threat from the increasing incidence of bacterial infections. Through their antimicrobial mechanisms, bacteria use appropriate strategies to overcome the antimicrobial effects of antibiotics. The enhanced effects of synergistic strategies on drug-resistant bacteria and biofilms have led to increasing interest in these approaches in recent years.

Skin cancer images have hair occlusion problems, which greatly affects the accuracy of diagnosis and classification. Current dermoscopic hair removal methods use segmentation networks to locate hairs, and then uses repair networks to perform image repair. However, it is difficult to segment hair and capture the overall structure between hairs because of the hair being thin, unclear, and similar in color to the entire image.

This stationary phase demonstrated excellent separation performance in both reversed-phase and hydrophilic chromatography modes, effectively separating a wide variety of compounds including alkylbenzenes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, phenols, anilines, sulfonamides, nucleosides, amino acids, sugars, and acids. The development of RCC3-GLD@silica benefits from the synergistic effects of its hydrophobic and hydrophilic actions, as evidenced by the U-shaped characteristic of the retention factor for nucleoside compounds with changes in the aqueous content of the mobile phase, further confirming the simultaneous presence of reversed-phase and hydrophilic chromatography mechanisms.
