These vaccines offer various advantages, such as streamlining vaccination schedules, minimizing injection-related pain and exposure to preservatives, expanding vaccine coverage, and reducing administration costs. However, the intricate and expensive development of these vaccines presents substantial challenges, requiring increased investment and healthcare provider education to optimize their utilization and sustain high vaccination rates.

A Qualitative Systematic Review of Endovascular Management of Renal Artery Aneurysms.

Purpose: To perform a qualitative systematic review of endovascular management of renal artery aneurysms (RAAs).

Materials And Methods: A comprehensive electronic search of PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, Google Scholar, and Cochrane databases from 2000 to 2022 was performed using the search terms "renal artery," "aneurysm," and "endovascular." Means of outcome measures were calculated with a primary end point focused on RAA-related mortality and rupture.

Effect of a compassion fatigue resiliency program on nurses' professional quality of life, perceived stress, resilience: A randomized controlled trial.

This study was conducted with the aim of determining the chemical, biochemical properties, and antimicrobial capabilities of some of the monofloral honeys produced in Turkey. In this study, 23 different monofloral honey samples were obtained from diverse geographical regions of Turkey. Floral origin of the honey samples was determined by melissopalinological analyses.

Influenza vaccination situation in Middle-East and North Africa countries: Report of the 7th MENA Influenza Stakeholders Network (MENA-ISN).

Background: The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region faces a dual challenge with regard to influenza infection due to severe zoonotic influenza outbreaks episodes and the circulation of Northern Hemisphere human influenza viruses among pilgrims.

Methods: The MENA Influenza Stakeholder Network (MENA-ISN) was set-up with the aim of increasing seasonal influenza vaccination coverage by (i) enhancing evidence-based exchanges, and (ii) increasing awareness on the safety and benefits of seasonal vaccination. During the 7th MENA-ISN meeting, representatives from 8 countries presented their influenza surveillance, vaccination coverage and actions achieved and provided a list of country objectives for the upcoming 3 years.

The 11th report of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis Consortium is presented, documenting cycles collected for the calendar year 2008 and follow-up of the pregnancies and babies born until October 2009 which resulted from these cycles. Since the beginning of the data collections, there has been a steady increase in the number of cycles, pregnancies and babies reported annually. For data collection XI, 53 centres have participated, reporting on 5641 cycles to oocyte retrieval (OR), along with details of the follow-up on 1418 pregnancies and 1169 babies born.

ESHRE PGD consortium best practice guidelines for fluorescence in situ hybridization-based PGD.

In 2005, the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) PGD Consortium published a set of Guidelines for Best Practice PGD to give information, support and guidance to potential, existing and fledgling PGD programmes. The subsequent years have seen the introduction of new technologies as well as evolution of current techniques. Additionally, in light of recent advice from ESHRE on how practice guidelines should be written and formulated, the Consortium believed it was timely to revise and update the PGD guidelines.

What next for preimplantation genetic screening?

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis for aneuploidy screening (preimplantation genetic screening-PGS) has been used to detect chromosomally normal embryos from subfertile patients. The main indications are advanced maternal age (AMA), repeated implantation failure, repeated miscarriages and severe male factor infertility. Many non-randomized PGS studies have been published and report an increase in implantation rate, and/or a decrease in miscarriage rate.

Impact of chromosomal abnormalities on preimplantation embryo development.

Objectives: To evaluate the influence of numerical chromosomal abnormalities on preimplantation embryo development.

Methods: This study includes 6936 embryos from 1245 women undergoing preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). Indications for aneuploidy screening were: recurrent miscarriages, implantation failure, severe male factor, advanced maternal age, and mixed causes.

Outbreak of measles in medical students and determination of immune status to measles-mumps-rubella viruses.

We conducted an investigation after a measles outbreak in medical students to determine the immunity of the medical students, the correlation between history and seropositivity, and measles-mumps-rubella vaccine effectiveness. After a preliminary study done during measles outbreak, a cross-sectional study was planned. Serum samples from 322 medical students were tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, vaccinated volunteers, then re-tested vaccinees.

Interchangeability of a hepatitis A vaccine second dose: Avaxim 80 following a first dose of Vaqta 25 or Havrix 720 in children in Turkey.

Introduction: This randomised, observer-blind clinical trial conducted in Turkey evaluated the immunogenicity, safety and interchangeability of three paediatric inactivated hepatitis A vaccines in 424 seronegative children between 1 and 15 years of age.

Methods: Potential subjects were screened for anti-hepatitis A virus (HAV) antibodies prior to receiving a first dose of Avaxim 80, Havrix 720 or Vaqta 25, followed by a second dose of either the same vaccine or Avaxim 6 months later. Anti-HAV antibody concentrations were measured 2 weeks after the first injection, at 24 weeks (before the second dose) and at 28 weeks for the evaluation of the immune response.

[Relationships among ultrasonographic and demographic, clinical, laboratory findings of patients with acute cholecystitis].

Methods: The patients older than 17 years of age with acute colecystitis admitted to the general surgery clinics between January 1991 and December 2000 were evaluated and compared in terms of various parameters.

Embryo aneuploidy screening for unexplained recurrent miscarriage: a minireview.

Problem: The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence of chromosomal abnormalities in unexplained recurrent miscarriage (RM) patients and assess the role of pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) in preventing subsequent pregnancy loss and improving pregnancy outcome.

Method Of Study: Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis was performed in 241 RM cycles and in 35 cycles in patients undergoing PGD for sex-linked diseases (control group). Chromosomes 13, 16, 18, 21, 22, X and Y were analysed by fluorescence in situ hybridization.

Background: Maintenance of ovarian homeostasis requires precise regulation of proliferation of thecal- interstitial (T-I) cells. Recent evidence indicates that oxidative stress and antioxidants modulate proliferation of various tissues under both physiological and pathological conditions. This study evaluated the effects of oxidative stress and antioxidants on T-I proliferation.

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis by fluorescence in situ hybridization: clinical possibilities and pitfalls.

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis using the fluorescence in situ hybridization technique (FISH) is being used widely to prevent the transmission of sex-linked diseases, to screen for translocations, and for aneuploidy screening in specific in vitro fertilization (IVF) patient groups, along with FISH analysis of spermatozoa in infertile men. In this study, we aim to critically analyze our clinical results in patients at risk of transmitting sex-linked diseases (n = 55), in carriers of translocations (n = 43), in women who have recurrent miscarriage (two or more miscarriages) (n = 128), recurrent IVF failure (three or more failed IVF attempts) (n = 47), and patients of advanced maternal age (37 years old or older) (n = 79). The use of the FISH technique in carriers of sex-linked diseases and translocation patients prevents transmission of these conditions and provides good IVF outcome.
