Anxiety and depression coexist with cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease along with other concomitant disorders (>60%), which require multipurpose treatments. Polypharmaceutical regimens cause drug-drug interactions and adverse drug reactions, potentially avoidable in number and severity with the implementation of pharmacogenetic procedures. The accumulation of defective variants (>30 genes per patient in more than 50% of cases) in pharmagenes (pathogenic, mechanistic, metabolic, transporter, pleiotropic) influences the therapeutic response to antidementia, antidepressant and anxiolytic drugs in polyvalent regimens.

Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) is now widely used to investigate binding interactions in live cells. Although various idealized solutions have been identified for the reaction-diffusion equations that govern FRAP, there has been no comprehensive analysis or systematic approach to serve as a guide for extracting binding information from an arbitrary FRAP curve. We study the damping of internal waves in a viscous fluid near the liquid-vapor critical point. Such a fluid becomes strongly stratified by gravity due to its large compressibility. We report 2 isolated cases of slowly progressive muscle weakness in which tubular aggregates in muscle biopsy were found as the major pathological feature. Tubular aggregates were present in both types of fibers. Electron microscopy revealed the accumulation of double-walled tubular structures in dense subsarcolemmal locations or in smaller amounts within the myofibrils, close to cytoplasmic organelles.
