Objectives: Carry out an update and systematic review on the use of three-dimensional printing (3DP) in spinal surgery.
Methods: A systematic literature review was performed using the PubMed database in March 2024. "Spine surgery" and "3DP" were the search terms.
Objective: The use of biomodels in the laboratory for studying and training cervical laminoplasty has not yet been reported. We propose the use of a cervical spine biomodel for surgical laminoplasty training.
Methods: This is an experimental study.
Objective: To evaluate the cumulative incidence, risk factors, and outcomes of COVID-19 in patients with Cushing's disease (CD).
Subjects And Methods: In all, 60 patients with CD following up in our outpatient clinic answered via phone interview a questionnaire about the occurrence of COVID-19 infection documented by RT-PCR (including the diagnosis date and clinical outcome) and vaccination status. Clinical and biochemical data on disease activity (hypercortisolism) and comorbidities (obesity, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension) were obtained from the patients' electronic medical records.
This article addresses the world of healthcare work, especially in the Brazilian Unified Healthcare System (SUS) in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. This study used data from the following surveys: "Working conditions of health professionals in the context of COVID-19 in Brazil" and "The Invisible health workers: working conditions and mental health in the context of COVID-19 in Brazil". Data analysis proves that the pandemic highlighted existing structural problems within SUS, involving the issue of healthcare workforce (HWF) management, which can be interpreted as another reflection of the socioeconomic inequalities that already exist in the country.

Medium/large-sized animals like sheep have several advantages to study human diseases and medicine. Here, we present a protocol that describes the generation of an otoferlin edited sheep model via CRISPR-assisted single-stranded oligodinucleotide-mediated Homology-Directed Repair (HDR), through direct cytoplasmic microinjection in in vitro produced zygotes.

Responsible for assisting in detecting numerous pathologies and findings that directly interfere in the patient's life, this exam is therefore crucial in screening patients. This work proposes a methodology based on a Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) ensemble to aid the diagnosis of chest X-ray exams by screening them with a high probability of being normal or abnormal.

Aim: Correlate the expression profile of the OPN and ABCB5 biomarkers with the epidemiological and clinicopathological characteristics of the patients, the impact on the progression of the disease and the death.
Objective: To assess the association of carotid plaques and common carotid artery intima-media thickness with traditional modifiable cardiovascular risk factors.
Methods: We examined 4,266 participants aged 35-74years in the Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health (ELSA-Brasil) baseline. The presence of plaques at all carotid arteries sites was evaluated.
The beginning of this century has witnessed great advances in the understanding of ovarian physiology and embryo development, in the improvement of assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs), and in the arrival of the revolutionary genome editing technology through zygote manipulation. Particularly in sheep and goats, the current knowledge on follicular dynamics enables the design of novel strategies for ovarian control, enhancing artificial insemination and embryo production programs applied to genetic improvement. embryo production (IVEP) has evolved due to a better understanding of the processes that occur during oocyte maturation, fertilization and early embryo development.

Herein, we wanted to determine whether the use of delipidated estrous sheep serum during in vitro maturation (IVM) of ovine oocytes reduces the cytoplasmic lipid droplets content and improves embryo development and cryotolerance after vitrification. Cumulus oocytes complexes (COCs) were matured in vitro for 24 h in medium supplemented with whole or delipidated estrous sheep serum prior to vitrification.

The Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health (ELSA-Brasil) is a cohort of 15,105 civil servants in six Brazilian cities that included CIMT evaluation in its baseline assessment. The aim of the present narrative review was to provide an overview of ELSA-Brasil CIMT articles published up to July 31, 2017.

METHODS Cross-sectional study of 781 people who required dental care in Montes Claros, MG, Southeastern Brazil, in 2012, a city with of medium-sized population situated in the North of Minas Gerais. Household interviews were conducted to assess the users' dissatisfaction with dental care (dependent variable), demographic, socioeconomic conditions, oral health subjectivity and characterization of dental care (independent variables).

The efficacy of these actions is evidenced by compliance with healthy behaviors and in the reduction of rates of mortality and morbidity. The objective of this study was to identify whether access to information regarding the prevention of oral cancer is greater among elders whose residences are registered with the FHS.

Objective: To investigate the report of vaccination against Hepatitis B, verification of immunization and the factors associated with dosages of anti-HBs.
Method: We collected blood samples from those reported that they had one or more doses of the vaccine.
Objective: To verify the prevalence and factors associated with vaccination against hepatitis B among Primary Health Care workers in Montes Claros/MG.
Method: A cross-sectional, analytic study was undertaken. Data were collected through a form, which contained sociodemographic, occupational, general health and behavioral variables.
Objective: National epidemiological data on the oral health of elders was analysed to examine relationships between the need for oral treatment and external environment, the dental care delivery system, personal characteristics and subjective conditions of oral health.
Background: Brazil's universal public healthcare system is theoretically responsible to provide dental care to Brazilians of all ages. However, as dentists were integrated into public primary care facilities only in 2000, Brazilian seniors have accumulated needs.

Unlabelled: The HLAMatchmaker algorithm, which allows the identification of “safe” acceptable mismatches (AMMs) for recipients of solid organ and cell allografts, is rarely used in part due to the difficulty in using it in the current Excel format. The automation of this algorithm may universalize its use to benefit the allocation of allografts. Recently, we have developed a new software called EpHLA, which is the first computer program automating the use of the HLAMatchmaker algorithm.

In order to automate these queries, one approach is to structure laboratory data into a database and to develop bioinformatic tools to perform the data mapping. In this context, we developed the LabSystem Gen tool that allows users to create a Laboratory Information System, without programming.
