Objective: The objective of the study was to establish the prognostic value of CSNRT regarding the necessity for pacemaker implantation in patients with atrial flutter (AFL) post-ablation.
Methods: This prospective cohort study, conducted at the National Institute of Cardiology "Ignacio Chavez" in Mexico City, assessed patients who had undergone ablation procedures to correct AFL, posterior to which an autonomic blockade was performed, and CSNRT was measured.
Results: The sample for this investigation was 40 patients.

Purpose: To validate the QRS-Polarity algorithm in a modern cohort of subjects submitted to radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA).
Evaluation in medical emergencies of COVID-19 patients represents a challenge to regulate preventive and timely management. There are key imaging and laboratory tools to classify the severity. Objectives: Describe the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the procedures performed by the electrophysiology department in a national referral center.
Methods: We made a retrospective review of our data base and we compared procedures made in the past 3 years since 2017-2019 with the procedures made in the 2020.
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a frequent arrhythmia; its prevalence is near 2% in the general population; in Mexico, more than one-half million people are affected. AF needs to be considered as a public health problem. Because AF is an independent risk factor associated with mortality, due to embolic events, heart failure, or sudden death; early diagnosis is of utmost importance.

Sudden death in a child is a devastating event with important medical implications for surviving relatives. Because it may be the first manifestation of unknown inherited cardiac disease, molecular autopsy can be helpful to determine the cause of death and identify at risk family members. The aim of the study was to perform a molecular autopsy in a seven year-old girl with sudden unexplained death, to find evidence supporting the possible pathogenicity of mutations identified in inherited cardiac disease genes, and to clinically and genetically assess first-degree relatives.

Objective: To describe the demographics and treatment modalities for rhythm control (RC) strategy or heart rate (HR) control in patients with AF treated by cardiologists. A secondary objective was to prospectively evaluate the status of AF according to the chosen strategy; sinus rhythm in RC and mean ventricular rate at rest ≤ 80 bpm in HR, as well as the incidence of clinical outcomes at 12 month follow-up.
