Objective: The study delved into the epigenetic factors associated with periodontal disease in two lineages of mice, namely C57bl/6 and Balb/c. Its primary objective was to elucidate alterations in the methylome of mice with distinct genetic backgrounds following systemic microbial challenge, employing high-throughput DNA methylation analysis as the investigative tool.
Methods: ()was orally administered to induce periodontitis in both Balb/c and C57bl/6 lineage.
Objectives: Periodontal disease is understood to be a result of dysbiotic interactions between the host and the biofilm, causing a unique reaction for each individual, which in turn characterizes their susceptibility. The objective of this study was to chronologically evaluate periodontal tissue destruction induced by systemic bacterial challenge in known susceptible (BALB/c) and resistant (C57BL/6) mouse lineages.
Material And Methods: Animals, 6-8 weeks old, were allocated into three experimental groups: Negative control (C), Gavage with sterile carboxymethyl cellulose 2%-without bacteria (Sham), and Gavage with carboxymethyl cellulose 2% + Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg-W83).
Background/aim: Tumor interstitial fluid (TIF), a component of the tumor microenvironment, is a valuable source of molecules and substances that help in diagnosis and prognosis of solid tumors. There is still no consensus on the optimal method for collecting TIF. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a new method of collecting TIF in invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) samples for cytokine interleukin 1β (IL1β) quantification.

PE is responsible for 42% of maternal deaths worldwide and kills approximately 76 000 women a year. In addition, children born under PE conditions are at increased risk of hospitalization due to metabolic disorders, epilepsy, and other complications.

Objective: Investigate the impact of resveratrol (RESV) on peri-implant repair and its effect on bone-related markers in rats with induced diabetes mellitus (DM).
Material And Methods: Ninety rats were divided into: DM + RESV ( = 18); DM + placebo (PLAC) ( = 18); DM + insulin (INS) ( = 18); DM + RESV + INS ( = 18); Non-DM ( = 18). Diabetes was induced by streptozotocin.

Purpose: Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia (COD) is a well-described condition that occurs predominantly in black women. The lesion is usually asymptomatic, but in severe cases, symptoms can occur in association with focal expansion due to infection. The safety of dental procedures that involve areas with florid COD has been little discussed.
