In this article, various convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures for the detection of pterygium in the anterior segment of the eye are explored and compared. Five CNN architectures (ResNet101, ResNext101, Se-ResNext50, ResNext50, and MobileNet V2) are evaluated with the objective of identifying one that surpasses the precision and diagnostic efficacy of the current existing solutions. The results show that the Se-ResNext50 architecture offers the best overall performance in terms of precision, recall, and accuracy, with values of 93%, 92%, and 92%, respectively, for these metrics.

Methods: Ninety-nine lithium heparin tubes and EDTA tubes were collected simultaneously from selected patients at five participating institutions. The lithium heparin tubes were then split between the Portex ABG syringe and the PICO aspirator.

Methods: We selected 2 neighboring rooms for the EVD unit: 1 for patient care and 1 for laboratory testing. A limited test menu was developed after consultation with the team of healthcare providers treating patients with EVD, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations, and other sites with EVD expertise.
The shape dynamics of soft, elastic particles in an unbounded simple shear flow is investigated theoretically under Stokes flow conditions. Three types of motion-steady-state, trembling, and tumbling-are predicted, depending on the shear rate, elastic shear modulus, and initial particle shape. The steady-state motion is found to be always stable.
