We present a case of traumatic fibular bowing associated with ankle fracture in a 14-year-old girl. Acute traumatic bowing deformities of the fibula have always been reported as associated with mid-shaft tibial fractures, but involvement of the distal fibula associated with an ankle fracture has not been reported. The clinical picture is described and the mechanism of injury discussed.

Malnutrition is prevalent in the elderly and it can negatively influence patients' recovery from hip fracture. This paper reports on two cases of medial meniscus injury involving detachment of the anterior horn together with a coronary ligament tear. Both cases were associated with tearing of the anterior cruciate ligament. The meniscal injuries observed were similar to those reported in the literature prior to the development of arthroscopic surgery.

In a prospective study, nine patients with osteoid osteoma were treated with a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor (rofecoxib). Patient pain perception with no treatment, with conventional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) treatment, and with rofecoxib therapy was compared using a visual analog scale. Tumor response was also monitored by radiographs, computed tomography, and bone scintigraphy.
