Background: Capsule endoscopy (CE) is increasingly used in patients with suspected or known Crohn's disease (CD).
Objective: To determine the diagnostic yield of CE and the distribution of small-bowel (SB) lesions in symptomatic patients with known CD.
Design And Setting: Retrospective review of CE procedures performed in patients with CD between 2001 and 2005 in a tertiary care center.
The association between Down syndrome and gastrointestinal anomalies such as duodenal and esophageal atresia, tracheoesophageal fistulas, and Hirschsprung's disease is well documented. More recently, an association between Down syndrome and achalasia was reported. In this report, we describe a 48-year-old woman with a history of Down syndrome who presented with dysphagia.

Neurologic examination confirmed upper and lower extremity motor and sensory deficits. MRI showed multiple enhancing white matter lesions distributed throughout her brain as well as her thoracic spine.
