Mediterranean diet adherence has been decreasing during the last few decades, and non-appropriate snacking habits have also been identified among Mediterranean children and adolescents. To co-create new snacks and to explore children's interests and preferences, a multi-method approach was used in the present study, including some qualitative and quantitative research phases. Conducted in collaboration with schools in Lebanon, Egypt, Portugal, Italy, and Spain, different snack prototypes were designed and tested in a Mediterranean cross-cultural context.

Global warming is changing precipitation patterns, particularly harming communities in low-and-middle income countries (LMICs). Whilst the long-term effects of being exposed to rainfall shocks early in life on school-achievement tests are well-established, there is little population-based evidence from LMICs on the mechanisms through which these shocks operate. Executive functions (EFs) are key for children's learning abilities.

Tetrahydrolinalool (THL) is an acyclic monoterpene alcohol, produced during linalol metabolism and also a constituent of essential oils. As described in the literature, many monoterpenes present anticonvulsant properties, and thus we became interested in evaluating the anticonvulsant activity of Tetrahydrolinalool using in mice model as well as in silico approaches. Our results demonstrated that THL increased latency to seizure onset and also reduced the mortality, in picrotoxin induced seizure tests.

Ocular infections associated with sporotrichosis can present four clinical manifestations: granulomatous conjunctivitis, dacryocystitis, Parinaud oculoglandular syndrome, and bulbar conjunctivitis. The incidence of ocular sporotrichosis related to zoonotic transmission has significantly increased in endemic regions and is a frequently misdiagnosed cause of granulomatous conjuntivitis. Therefore, we present a series of seven cases of eye injury by Sporothrix strains, including clinical forms, therapeutic approaches, and laboratory procedures to alert health professionals who provide care to these patients.

Standard-sized autonomous vehicles have rapidly improved thanks to the breakthroughs of deep learning. However, scaling autonomous driving to mini-vehicles poses several challenges due to their limited on-board storage and computing capabilities. Moreover, autonomous systems lack robustness when deployed in dynamic environments where the underlying distribution is different from the distribution learned during training.

A high rate of post-vaccinal aseptic meningitis for Urabe AM9 mumps virus strain is well documented. This strain is composed of two virus variants differing at the nt 1081 (A/G) region in the hemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN) gene. An association of HN-A(1081) variant with neurovirulence has been proposed.
