Background And Aims: Decreased nitric oxide (NO) bioavailability in a cirrhotic liver contributes to high intrahepatic vascular resistance (IHVR) and portal hypertension (PHT). Nostrin is an inhibitory protein of NO synthesising enzyme endothelial NO synthase (eNOS), shown to increase in cirrhosis with PHT, however, the precise molecular mechanism is poorly documented. This study aimed to elucidate the role of Nostrin and associated derangement in hepatic NO generation in cirrhotic liver.

NERD includes three phenotypes: true NERD, functional heartburn (FH) and reflux hypersensitivity (RH). The management of these NERD phenotypes differs.

Congenital BBF often presents with bilioptysis in early neonates and infants; however, patients with no overt symptoms may occasionally present in adulthood. Our literature search in Medline from 1850 to 2023 revealed 42 reported cases of congenital BBF, primarily managed with thoracotomy and excision of the fistula tract.

Methods: The study was conducted among 215 cirrhotic patients referred for LT at a tertiary care hospital. Patients were enrolled between July 2021 and October 2022 to assess the prevalence of malnutrition.
Purpose: Literature on the treatment of pre-transplant hepatic osteodystrophy (HOD) is limited. The general treatment measures and their timing are currently adopted from the literature on postmenopausal osteoporosis. Therefore, we conducted this randomized study to investigate the effect of zoledronic acid (ZA) on HOD.

It is often diagnosed at an advanced stage due to late presentation by patients, mistaking it for gestational symptoms. We report a 24-year-old pregnant woman with gastric cancer with skull base metastasis and Krukenberg tumor on initial diagnosis.

Endoscopic cyanoacrylate glue injection (ECGI) is the first-line treatment for GVB. Hence, we conducted this study to assess the clinical outcomes and the determinants of ECGI for gastric variceal bleeding.

Several additional strategies have been tried to improve patient tolerance with limited success. We hypothesized that premedication with glycopyrrolate would enhance TPA and improve patient tolerance and procedural outcomes of an unsedated UGIE.

Methods And Materials: We conducted a randomized, double-masked, non-inferiority trial at a single research institute.
Introduction: Probiotics have been shown to be effective in many diseases. However, their effects on the nutritional status in patients with cirrhosis is uncertain.
Aim: We aimed to study the effect of probiotics on nutritional status, biochemical parameters, and liver disease severity in patients with cirrhosis referred for liver transplantation.

Unlabelled: Killian-Jamieson diverticulum (KJD) is a rare esophageal diverticulum that arises from the anterolateral wall of the proximal cervical esophagus in the Killian-Jamieson space. Although rare presentations include dysphagia, globus sensation, or a suspected thyroid nodule, it is often asymptomatic. Treatment is indicated only in symptomatic cases.

Aim: To determine the clinical, biochemical, and radiological profile of PHPT patients presenting as AP.
Methods: This is a retrospective observational study, 51 consecutive patients admitted with the diagnosis of PHPT during January 2010 and October 2021 at a tertiary care hospital in Puducherry, India was included.
Incretin-based therapies like glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors help maintain the glycaemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with additional systemic benefits and little risk of hypoglycaemia. These medications are associated with low-grade chronic pancreatitis in animal models inconsistently. The incidence of acute pancreatitis was also reported in some human studies.

Pancreatic cancer (PC) is often associated with a poor prognosis. Long-standing diabetes mellitus is considered as an important risk factor for its development. This risk can be modified by the use of certain antidiabetic medications.

These occur either during active COVID-19 or soon after recovery. We report ileocolonic Crohn's disease in a 35-year-old woman after her recovery from a milder form of COVID-19.

Chronic pancreatitis (CP) is considered a risk factor for the development of pancreatic cancer (PC). Persistent pancreatic inflammation and activation of pancreatic stellate cells play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of CP-related PC by activating the oncogene pathway.

Thrombosis of the mesenteric vein accounts for less than 10% of cases of intestinal ischemia. Superior mesenteric vein thrombosis (SMVT) in its chronic form is less culpable to produce intestinal ischemia as it forms sufficient collateral drainage.

CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis showed wall thickening in the antropyloric region of the stomach and enhancing soft tissue lesion in the left psoas and right gluteal region. Gastroscopy revealed a circumferential growth in the antrum and pylorus of the stomach, and biopsy from the growth was reported as moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma.
