Feline leishmaniasis is increasingly recognized as a disease affecting cats worldwide, with notable prevalence in regions surrounding the Mediterranean Basin and in Brazil. An approximately one-year-old domestic shorthair cat was presented with small papules and nodules (2 mm) on the nasal planum. Physical examination and routine blood analyses were normal.

Here we provide an overview of the state of the field of radiative corrections with a focus on several topics: lepton-proton scattering, QED corrections in deep-inelastic scattering, and in radiative light-hadron decays. Particular emphasis is placed on the two-photon exchange, believed to be responsible for the proton form-factor discrepancy, and associated Monte-Carlo codes.

Scorpion serotherapy during pregnancy protects rat offspring from harmful effects of venom.

Despite the numerous incidents of scorpion envenoming worldwide, little is known about the effects of maternal venom exposure and serotherapy on fetal development. The impact of antivenom on pregnant rats envenomed by Tityus serrulatus venom was examined. The venom caused alterations in the development of the offspring, yet the antivenom protected against these adverse effects and does not cause harm in itself, indicating the potential benefits of serotherapy.

Metformin as a therapeutic tool for resistant hematological malignancies: a literature review.

Mate Marote is an open-access cognitive training software aimed at children between 4 and 8 years old. It consists of a set of computerized games specifically tailored to train and evaluate Executive Functions (EF), a class of processes critical for purposeful, goal-directed behavior, including working memory, planning, flexibility, and inhibitory control. Since 2008, several studies were performed with this software at children's own schools in interventions supervised in-person by cognitive scientists.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the foam rolling technique and static stretching on perceptual and neuromuscular parameters following a bout of high-intensity functional training (HIFT), which consisted of 100 pull-ups, 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and 100 air squats (Angie benchmark) in recreationally trained men ( = 39). Following baseline measurements (Feeling Scale, Visual Analogue Scale, Total Quality Recovery, Sit-and-Reach, Countermovement Jump, and Change-of-Direction -test), the volunteers performed a single bout of HIFT. Report of the presence of Leishmania infantum in the milk of a naturally infected female dog in Brazil.

Dogs are the most important reservoir of Leishmania infantum, the causal agent of visceral leishmaniasis in Brazil. Although lymphoid tissue is the most important biological tissue where amastigotes can be found, this paper describes the presence of L. infantum DNA in the milk of a lactating naturally infected female dog.

Background: Intraoral scanners (IOS) are gaining interest in Dentistry for their ability to capture digital impressions of the oral cavity. Pyrazinamide photodegradation on NiWO-palygorskite nanocomposites under polychromatic irradiation.

In this work, antibiotic pyrazinamide (PZA) photodegradation on palygorskite (Pal), NiWO crystals, and NiWO-Pal (2, 6, and 10%) nanocomposites was evaluated under polychromatic irradiation. In the characterization of the samples, XRD patterns displayed good crystallinity for NiWO crystals and nanocomposites. In addition, the diffractograms were used in the Rietveld refinement for phase indexing, revealing a wolframite-type monoclinic structure with the space group P2/c.

There is evidence that circadian misalignment is linked with an increased risk of stroke and that circadian preference is linked with rehabilitation outcomes after stroke. Circadian preferences refer to preferences based on individuals' characteristics in respect of the timing of physiological functions that are typically assessed by self-report questionnaires.
