Four cases of tuberculous otitis media in children are reported. One case presented with a postaural fistula, another case with signs of meningeal irritation and ear discharge and two cases as chronic otitis media refractory to conventional treatment. All patients underwent modified radical mastoidectomy and the diagnosis was made postoperativelyby histopathology in three cases and Ziehl-Neelson stainig of the discharge from the mastoid cavity in one.

Such an injury pattern requires a multifaceted therapeutic to alter the wound healing response systemically. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are a unique source of secreted factors that can modulate an inflammatory response to acute organ injury and enhance the repair of injured tissue at the parenchymal and endothelial levels.

Four analyst perform five sets of test in duplicate analysing accuracy, precision, and limit of detection, sensitivity and specificity. Our results suggest that both DSI and BIORAD kits fulfil the validation criteria and are sensitive to detect up to 10 mIU concentration precisely and accurately.

This randomized double blind study was conducted prospectively to determine whether coblation tonsillectomy fared better than the conventional dissection method in terms of postoperative pain, bleeding, and rapidity of healing in adult Indian patients undergoing tonsillectomy. Sixty adult patients undergoing tonsillectomy for benign indications were randomized to have one tonsil removed by subcapsular radiofrequency ablation method and the other by conventional dissection method. The operative time and blood loss was noted for each side.

The present study was conducted prospectively to evaluate how accurately high resolution computed tomography scanning could define the extent and severity of the underlying disease in patients with chronic suppurative ear disease, thus, helping convert a surgical exploration into a planned procedure. Sixty adult consecutive cases of chronic suppurative otitis media underwent a detailed high resolution computed tomography by a single radiologist. The recorded radiological findings in various heads were then compared to the surgical findings during mastoid exploration of these patients by a single otologist and the two statistically compared.

Early recognition and diagnosis of OOSCCs might improve patient survival and reduce treatment-related morbidity. The purpose of this article is to create awareness among the general practitioners to recognize the premalignant and early malignant lesions and to review the different diagnostic aids for the detection of cancer.

This study compares the effects of different metal concentration on survival, reproduction and total metal accumulation by two different earthworm species, Allolobophora parva and Eisenia fetida. The substrate was spiked with different heavy metals (Cu, Cr, Pb, Zn & Cd) with concentrations varying from 500-2500 mg/kg. Cu resulted in complete mortality at all doses for both species.

A study (100 days duration) was conducted to evaluate the efficiency of an exotic earthworm species (epigeic-Eisenia foetida) for decomposition of different types of organic substrates (kitchen waste, agro-residues, institutional and industrial wastes including textile industry sludge and fibres) into valuable vermicompost. The percentage of, nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium in vermicompost was found to increase while pH and total organic carbon declined as a function of the vermicomposting period. 4.

A challenge in the isolation of effective intrabodies is the ability to find molecules that exhibit sufficient binding affinity and stability when expressed in the reducing environment of the cytoplasm. Here, we have used yeast surface display of proteins to isolate novel scFv clones against huntingtin from a non-immune human antibody library.
