High-precision molecular manipulation techniques are used to control the distance between radical molecules on superconductors. Our results show that the molecules can host single electrons with a spin 1/2. By changing the distance between tip and sample, a quantum phase transition from the singlet to doublet ground state can be induced.

However, the porous nature of Kagome graphene opens a semiconducting gap due to quantum confinement, preventing its fine-tuning by electrostatic gates. Here we induce zero-energy states into a semiconducting Kagome graphene by inserting π-radicals at selected locations.

Unlike their solution counterpart, magnetization at surfaces in low-dimensional analogues is strongly influenced by magnetic anisotropy (MA) induced by the substrate and still not well understood. Here, on-surface coordination chemistry is used to synthesize on Ag(111) and superconducting Pb(111) an iron-based spin chain by using pyrene-4,5,9,10-tetraone (PTO) precursors as ligands.

This is achieved through an intricate signalling interplay between the brain and peripheral feedback signals that shape pituitary cell excitability by regulating the ion channel properties of these cells. In addition, endocrine anterior pituitary cells spontaneously fire action potentials to regulate the intracellular calcium ([Ca]) level, an essential signalling conduit for hormonal secretion.

As vegetarian dietary patterns are increasingly being included within clinical practice guidelines, there is a need to review the most recent evidence regarding if and how these dietary patterns mitigate CVD risk.
Objective: This umbrella review of systematic reviews compared the relationships between vegetarian, vegan and non-vegetarian dietary patterns and CVD health outcomes and risk factors among presumably healthy adults (≥18 years) in the general population.
Supramolecular materials provide a pathway for achieving precise, highly ordered structures while exhibiting remarkable response to external stimuli, a characteristic not commonly found in covalently bonded materials. The design of self-assembled materials, where properties could be predicted/design from chemical nature of the individual building blocks, hinges upon our ability to relate macroscopic properties to individual building blocks - a feat which has thus far remained elusive. Here, a design approach is demonstrated to chemically engineer the thermal expansion coefficient of 2D supramolecular networks by over an order of magnitude (\boldmath 120 to \boldmath 1000 × 10 K).

Unlike monolayer black phosphorous, little is known about their electronic properties when in contact with metal electrodes, although this is crucial for future applications. Here, we characterize the atomic structure of cyclo-P assembled on Ag(111) using atomic force microscopy with functionalized tips and density functional theory.

There is a great public interest to investigate whether glyphosate are detected in breast milk. Thus, the goal of this study was to assess the concentration of glyphosate and its main metabolite in breast milk.

In the experiments carried out, the protein content and the profile of free amino acids in barley flour were examined from cultivation fertilised with biomass ash at various doses. Barley flour from Haplic Luvisol soil was characterised by a significantly higher (by 13.

The experiment was conducted in 2019 (A) and 2020 (B), and barley was fertilized with ash doses (D1-D6) differing in mineral content. In the tested barley starch samples, the amylose content, the clarity of the paste, and the content of selected minerals were determined.

Structurally defined graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) have emerged as promising candidates for nanoelectronic devices. Low band gap (<1 eV) GNRs are particularly important when considering the Schottky barrier in device performance. Here, we demonstrate the first solution synthesis of 8-AGNRs through a carefully designed arylated polynaphthalene precursor.

The control over charge-state transitions and subsequent molecular vibrations using scanning tunneling microscopy typically requires the use of a decoupling layer. Here we show the vibronic excitations of tetrabromotetraazapyrene (TBTAP) molecules directly adsorbed on Ag(111) into an orientational glassy phase.

Here we show that miR-483-5p in the amygdala of male mice counterbalances the structural, functional and behavioural consequences of stress to promote a reduction in anxiety-like behaviour.

Although maternal blood provides accurate polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) concentrations, venipuncture is expensive and not always accessible. PUFA-containing foods consumption, both omega-3 ad omega-6 is supposed to reflect in the status (plasma, RBC, adipose tissue) of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).

Molecular self-assembly plays a very important role in various aspects of technology as well as in biological systems. Governed by covalent, hydrogen or van der Waals interactions-self-assembly of alike molecules results in a large variety of complex patterns even in two dimensions (2D). Prediction of pattern formation for 2D molecular networks is extremely important, though very challenging, and so far, relied on computationally involved approaches such as density functional theory, classical molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo, or machine learning.

On-surface synthesis of such NGs has been achieved on noble metals and metal oxides; however, it is still absent on superconductors. Here, we present a synthetic method to induce superconductivity of polymeric chains and NGs adsorbed on the superconducting Nb(110) substrate covered by thin Ag films.
