Bolometric detection of electromagnetic radiation is a well-established method in a wide frequency range, from millimeter waves through the terahertz region up to infrared. Fabrication of such a detector is often an expensive and demanding process. We propose a simple device based on a commercially available thermistor as a sensing element.

Research focuses on improving the uniformity of the illumination obtained from diffractive optical elements in the THz range. The structures are designed with a modified Ping-Pong algorithm and a neural network-based solution.

In the terahertz spectral range, it can be realized by easy-to-manufacture diffractive optical elements (DOEs) allowing to focus the radiation into multiple focal spots in a single plane. In this article, we present diffractive optical elements focusing THz radiation into three focal spots.
