With breast cancer being one of the most widespread causes of death for women, there is an unmet need for its early detection. For this purpose, we propose a non-invasive approach based on X-ray scattering. We measured samples from 107 unique patients provided by the Breast Cancer Now Tissue Biobank, with the total dataset containing 2958 entries.

Our case-control study aims to establish whether established serum inflammatory biomarkers are relevant to the diagnosis of CAP in patients with CHF. Seventy inpatients with previously diagnosed CHF and suspected non-severe CAP were recruited and then stratified into two subgroups with confirmed and rejected diagnosis of CAP.

Background: Atherothrombosis is the principal mechanism of type 1 (T1) myocardial infarction (MI), while type 2 (T2) MI is typically diagnosed in the presence of triggers (anemia, arrhythmia, etc.). We aimed to evaluate the proportions of T1 vs.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWhile atherosclerotic plaque disruption remains the hallmark of type 1 myocardial infarction (T1MI), multiple other mechanisms provoking myocardial supply/demand mismatch (eg, anemia and tachyarrhythmias) are recognized as the potential causes of type 2 myocardial infarction (T2MI). In clinical practice, angiography is underutilized in patients with MI that have typical T2MI triggers, although the presence of these triggers and various forms of atherosclerotic coronary artery disease is not mutually exclusive. We describe a 70-year-old man that developed MI during hospitalization for gastrointestinal bleeding.

This structure exhibits potentially useful physical properties, including a nonlinear dielectric response to an increasing electric field. This material can be used in energy storage devices as the dielectric part of a capacitor.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA Polyaniline-Supercapacitor with quinone electrolytes remains stable over 50 000 galvanostatic charge-discharge cycles. The quinones provide superior stability by preventing the conversion of porous polyaniline to a highly reactive state. Our work shows that highly stable polymer-supercapacitors can be engineered by combining electrochemically active polymers and redox-active electrolytes with concerted electrochemical properties.
