Objective: This study aimed to correlate the bite/occlusal force measurements obtained through two methods: a hydraulic pressure gauge with a biting transducer (GM-10), and a computer-assisted device that records occlusal force on a pressure-sensitive film (Prescale II).

Methods: Healthy, dentate volunteers were recruited. Participants' demographic data included age, sex, number of teeth present, presence of oral pain, history of prior orthodontic treatment and presence of parafunction.

Background And Objective: The glucose clamp (GC) is an experimental technique for assessing several aspects of glucose metabolism. In these experiments, investigators face the non-trivial challenge of accurately adjusting the rate of intravenous glucose infusion to drive subjects' blood glucose (BG) concentration towards a desired plateau level. In this work we present Gluclas, an open-source software to support researchers in the modulation of glucose infusion rate (GIR) during GC experiments.

Syntheses of two natural products derived from the -kaurene kaurenoic acid are described for the first time using regio- and diastereoselective oxidations. Palladium- and manganese-mediated oxidations were used to accomplish the syntheses of two -beyerane metabolites. The use of the White-Gormisky-Zhao catalyst Mn(CF-PDP) enabled the first application of a nondirected metal-catalyzed oxidation in an unactivated C-H bond in a total synthesis.
