Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is an uncommon malignant tumor that accounts for less than 5% of head and neck cancers. ACC is characteristic for its indolent nature and its propensity for late distant metastases. Late diagnosis, tendency to perineural invasion, periosteal infiltration and local recurrence are factors of poor prognosis.

Sinking flap syndrome (SFS) is a rare complication characterized by neurological deterioration after craniectomy. Here, we report the case of a 73-year-old female patient who presented with disorientation, lip rhyme deviation to the right and left hemiparesis after cardiac catheterization.

Here we describe the case of a 76-year-old male patient that was transferred to our center due to severe SARS-CoV-2 infection and developed a SE during hospital stay. He presented sensory level impairment during hospitalization, but an initial Head CT scan showed no alterations.

Methods: This is a retrospective, single-center case series of consecutive patients. It is a subanalysis of a larger study still in progress, which covers all neurological manifestations that occurred in patients admitted between March 1st, 2020 and June 1st, 2022, with active SARS-CoV-2 infection confirmed by polymerase chain reaction test.
Introduction: Osteomyelitis is an inflammatory-infectious state that may involve trabecular bone, cortical bone, bone marrow and periosteum. The source of the infection may be hematogenic, acquired from an adjoining infectious focus or by direct inoculation into the bone. Its treatment involves antibiotic administration and surgery, but its management remains challenging.

Nevertheless, other large series have shown that most ruptured aneurysms are, in fact, the smaller ones. In the present study, we questioned whether small aneurysms are indeed not dangerous.

Objective: To highlight the anatomy of the ophthalmic artery origin from an endoscopic endonasal perspective.
Background: Germinomas are rare malignant central nervous system tumors, a type of germ cell tumor, according to the 2016 World Health Organization Classification of Brain Tumors. Most of these tumors develop along the midline, most often from the pineal gland, followed by tumors arising in the suprasellar cisterns. Suprasellar germinomas commonly manifest with diabetes insipidus, visual impairment, and hypothalamic-pituitary failure.

It can be affected by several pathologies, leading to compression of the nerve nearby or inside the canal, leading to visual impairment. The usual technique to decompress the canal is through a craniotomy, but recently endoscopic endonasal approaches (EEAs) have surfaced as an interesting alternative due to direct access to the canal without the need for manipulation of neurovascular structures.

Methods: From 2005-2013, 29 patients with a petroclival meningioma underwent tumor removal through a PIPA approach. The approach consists of a retrosigmoid approach, intradural anterior resection of the petrous apex and microsurgical removal of the tumor, followed by endoscopic-assisted visualization and removal of tumor parts in the middle fossa or anterior to the brainstem.

Unlabelled: BACKGROUND/STUDY AIMS: Percutaneous radiofrequency trigeminal rhizotomy (RTR) is a standardized treatment for trigeminal neuralgia, yet it has been associated with serious complications related to the cannulation of the foramen ovale. Some of these complications, such as carotid injury, are potentially lethal. Neuronavigation was recently proposed as a method to increase the procedure's safety.

Anatomical relationships with the surrounding cranial nerves and blood vessels are described, with emphasis on their clinical correlation during surgery in this region. Our objective was to describe the anatomical relationships of the ophthalmic division of the trigeminal nerve.

These characteristics allow them to erode the clivus and petrous bone and slowly compress the contents of the posterior fossa progressively until the patient becomes symptomatic, typically from cranial neuropathies. Given the site of their genesis, surrounded by the petrous apex and the clival recess, these tumors can project to the middle fossa, cervical area, and posteriorly, toward the cerebellopontine angle (CPA).
