To analyze mortality from head and neck cancer (HNC) in the State of Santa Catarina from 1979 to 2023. Ecological study of data available in the Mortality Atlas of the National Cancer Institute and in the Mortality Information System. Approximately 13,309 deaths due to HNC were recorded in the Mortality Atlas, considering the period from 1979 to 2021 and 11,027 deaths recorded in SIM in the period from 1996 to 2023.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional study conducted with data from the third wave of the EpiFloripa Idoso 2017/19 study, a population-based cohort of older adults (60+). A total of 1,335 older adults participated in this wave.
Objective: To investigate the prevalence of simultaneity of cardiovascular risk factors and their association with socio-demographic characteristics in older adults in Southern Brazil.
Methods: Cross-sectional study with 1.553 elderly participants of the EpiFloripa study in Florianópolis-SC.
Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the associations between sedentary behavior and different intensities of physical activity with cardiometabolic risk, and to analyze the simultaneous effect of excess sedentary behavior and recommended levels of physical activity on cardiometabolic risk markers in older adults.
Methods: We conducted a population-based cross-sectional study on a sample of older adults (60+) living in Florianopolis, Brazil. The objectively measured predictors were sedentary time, light physical activity and moderate to vigorous physical activity, and the outcomes were markers of cardiometabolic risk.
The demand for long-stay care institutions for the elderly (ILPIs) is increasing and it is relevant for public health systems to discuss the process of assessing the health status of its residents. The study aimed to identify measurement tools built specifically for the management and care of elderly residents in long-stay care facilities. A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA recommendations in Medline and CINAHL databases since their creation to May 2013 using the Medical Subject Headings terms suitable for the search.

The data of the study were extracted from a database and assessed using descriptive and inferential statistics and assessment of the thematic content. The first phase of the study was longitudinal (from 2003 to 2013) with 163 elderly participants, while the second phase was cross-sectional for the year of 2013 with 45 elderly individuals.
