Pancreatic insulinoma: a surgical experience.

Background: Small size, high benignity rate, and sporadic nature make insulinomas suitable for laparoscopic resection. On the other hand, occult location or multicentricity mandate open surgery. This study was designed to analyze a series of patients who had pancreatic insulinomas and underwent initial treatment at our institution.

Malignant insulinoma arising from intrasplenic heterotopic pancreas.

Context: Heterotopic pancreas is defined as ectopic pancreatic tissue without vascular or anatomic continuity with the normal pancreas. The spleen is a rare site of origin. This case report describes a patient with a malignant insulinoma which originated from an intrasplenic heterotopic pancreas.

Correlation between radiologic and pathologic dimensions of adrenal masses.

The size of adrenal tumors has been shown to be a good predictor of malignancy. There is still some controversy about the concordance between radiologic and real pathologic measurements. The aim of this study is to determine the correlation between direct and corrected radiologic computed tomography scan dimensions and the measurements of the resected specimen.

[Renal artery stenosis after transplantation: treatment using percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and placement of an expandable metal luminal prosthesis].

Unlabelled: Transplant renal artery stenosis (TRAS) is a cause of severe post transplant hypertension with a widely variable reported incidence from 1 to 25%. We herein report 3 cases of endoluminal stent placement after percutaneous transluminal angioplasty for treatment of TRAS. Clinical and laboratory findings during their follow-up, suggestive of TRAS included: elevated mean blood pressure, bruit over the graft area(2/3), and increase in serum creatinine (2/3).
