Introduction: Instruments to manage adverse effects of endocrine therapy with Aromatase inhibitors (AI) may improve adherence and persistence to treatment and Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQL). The 31-item Cervantes Scale (CS-31) is an HRQL questionnaire with particularities of the perimenopausal and postmenopausal period that could be an appropriate instrument to assess HRQL in Breast Cancer (BC) survivors.

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of thyroid disorders in patients with a positive biopsy for breast cancer prior to specific antitumor treatment.

Methods: The frequency and pattern of thyroid disorders were evaluated in 112 patients with breast cancer (G1) and 125 control patients (G2) by analyzing serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies, and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies. In addition, the expression of estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) was assessed in the breast biopsies by immunohistochemistry.

Objectives: Nausea and vomiting are important symptoms observed in cancer patients. In a previous study, we showed that delayed chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting control could be potentially improved by skipping the administration of a 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 (5-HT3) antagonist on day 2. We report here a trial confirming our previous findings.
