This article aims is to pinpoint these challenges and suggest some methodological safeguards, taking platelet-rich plasma therapies and knee osteochondral injuries as examples.

- Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is common in older adults, and at-home portable monitoring (PM) may serve as a viable alternative to the standard sleep study known as polysomnography (PSG) for diagnosing this condition.
- * The study involved patients over 65 with suspected OSAS who underwent two types of evaluations: at-home PM and simultaneous PM with PSG, allowing comparisons of the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) from each method.
- * Results showed that PM accurately diagnosed OSAS in elderly patients, with strong correlations between the different AHI values, indicating that PM can be effectively used instead of PSG for high-risk older adults.*
