A 42-year-old female with a past medical history of femoral facial syndrome (FFS) and years of gastroesophageal reflux disease presented to our clinic with symptoms of dysphagia and iron deficiency anemia. On upper endoscopy, esophageal stricture and adenocarcinoma were detected. Unfortunately, the patient developed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) multi-organ failure prior to cancer treatment and died with dignity after choosing comfort care measures.

Live poultry-associated salmonellosis is an emerging public health issue in the United States. Public and animal health officials collaborated to investigate one of the largest (356 cases, 39 states) of these outbreaks reported to date. A case was defined as illness in a person infected with the outbreak strain of Typhimurium with illness onset between 1 March and 22 October 2013.

It was found that efficiency on numerical capacities predicted separately more than 25% of the variance in the individual differences on a timed arithmetical test, and this occurred for both younger and older learners. These capacities were also significant predictors of individual variations in an untimed curriculum-based math achievement test and on the teacher scores of math performance over developmental time.
