Background: Amid a movement toward value-based healthcare, increasing emphasis has been placed on outcomes and cost of medical services. To define and demonstrate the quality of services provided by Mohs surgeons, it is important to identify and understand the key aspects of Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) that contribute to excellence in patient care.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to develop and identify a comprehensive list of metrics in an initial effort to define excellence in MMS.
There is a regulatory need for crop development dates to assess current default values used within chemical exposure assessments as well as to justify refinements within risk assessments. However, a readily available pan-European crop phenology database covering key FOrum for the Co-ordination of pesticide fate models and their USe (FOCUS) crops and scenarios to meet this need is not currently available. Therefore, we describe the development of a harmonized, pan-European, CropLife Europe Crop Development Database (C2D2), that is fully aligned with this regulatory requirement utilizing efficacy trials data generated for regulatory submissions when registering plant protection products under Regulation (EU)1107/2009.

Objective: To compare 4 assessments of PNI in CSCC, their associations with poor outcomes, and implications for their inclusion in the Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) staging system.
Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality after organ transplant. Many patients subsequently develop multiple CSCC following a first CSCC, and the risk of metastasis and death is significantly increased compared to the general population. Post-transplant CSCC represents a disease at the interface of dermatology and transplant medicine.

Objective: To examine the development and results of a Delphi process initiated to identify consensus-based medical management recommendations for prevention of CSCC in SOTRs.
Evidence Review: Dermatologists with more than 5 years' experience treating SOTRs were invited to participate.
Background: Practice variation has been well documented across the US health care system but has not been explored in reconstructive surgical choice after keratinocyte carcinoma (KC) extirpation.
Objective: Assess practice variation in utilization of complex (flap or graft) reconstruction after excision of KC on the nose among a multidisciplinary group of reconstructive surgeons (Mohs micrographic and plastic surgery).
Materials And Methods: A randomly selected subset of surgically treated, routine, primary, invasive KCs on the nose between 2000 to 2012 at the Veterans Affairs (VA)-Boston Healthcare System were assessed.
Problem: The SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic presented numerous challenges to inpatient care, including overtaxed inpatient medicine services, surges in patient censuses, disrupted patient care and educational activities for trainees, underused providers in certain specialties, and personal protective equipment shortages and new requirements for physical distancing. In March 2020, as the COVID-19 surge began, an interdisciplinary group of administrators, providers, and trainees at Brigham and Women's Hospital created an inpatient virtual staffing model called the Virtual Team Rounding Program (VTRP).
Approach: The conceptual framework guiding VTRP development was rapid-cycle innovation.
The majority of cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas are treated by surgical removal; however, approximately 4% of tumors will metastasize. Molecular expression testing may improve accuracy in estimating the prognosis and defining the mechanisms important in the disease progression, which may impact response to therapy. Using PubMed (MEDLINE) and EMBASE, a systematic review was performed to evaluate studies published from January 2005 to August 2019 reporting tumor protein or RNA expression along with either outcomes (metastasis or death) or a comparison of primary with metastatic tumor samples.

Limited real-world data have compared surgical outcome or cost between total margin-controlled excision (TMCE) and standard excision (SE), the two most common treatments for invasive KC. We compared reconstruction, margin status, and cost between TMCE and SE for KC on the nose at a Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system.

In addition, SARS-CoV-2 has been purportedly linked to multiple cutaneous manifestations, among them chilblain-like skin lesions, also known as "COVID toes." Driven in large part by social media, dermatologists around the world reported a dramatic increase in the frequency of chilblain-like diagnoses early in the COVID-19 pandemic, often in members of the same family.

The objectives were to tabulate the rate and ascertain factors associated with eventual publication of clinical trial results reported as abstracts in the Proceedings of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (American Society of Clinical Oncology).
Materials And Methods: Abstracts describing clinical trials for patients with breast, lung, colorectal, ovarian, and prostate cancer from 2009 to 2011 were identified by using a comprehensive online database (http://meetinglibrary.
Prior to 2011, only 2 systemic treatments were approved for the treatment of melanoma and these had limited efficacy. In the past 4 years, 6 novel agents have received FDA approval. Herein, we will focus on 4 recently published NEJM papers reporting the results of clinical trials, comprising 4 agents targeting the MAPK pathway: the BRAF inhibitors vemurafenib and dabrafenib, and the MEK inhibitors trametinib and cobimetenib.

Our objective was to examine the skin toxicity profile of anti-VEGFR TKIs and determine the changing incidence in clinical trials.
Methods: PubMed was queried for phase II or III trials of anti-VEGFR TKIs between 2000 and 2013 involving ≥50 patients.
In classical clinical perniosis (chilblains), the presence of atypical lymphocytes with immunohistochemical staining positive for CD30 is unusual and rarely reported. Here we report 2 cases of clinical perniosis, one in a 16-year-old girl and another in a 67-year-old woman. The biopsies revealed lymphocytic infiltrates, papillary dermal edema, and atypical cells highlighted with a CD30 immunohistochemical stain.

However, in recent years, with the development of numerous oral anticancer agents, dosing options are arbitrarily and increasingly limited by the size of pills. We contend that an underappreciated consequence of pill size is unequal dosing in comparative clinical trials and that this can have an impact on outcomes.

Recently, a new lineage of T cells known as Th9 cells that secrete increased IL-9 have been described. However, it is not known whether Th9 differentiation occurs in the presence of rapamycin or whether adoptively transferred donor Th9 cells would augment or restrict alloreactivity after experimental bone marrow transplantation.

Traditional ACL reconstruction uses 1 graft. A new technique, known as the double-bundle technique, uses 2 tendon grafts to more closely approximate normal anatomy.
