Introduction: Recent years have observed the increasing utilization of robotic-assisted and computer navigation techniques in total hip arthroplasty (THA), given the proposed benefits of enhanced consistency and precision in implant placement. The purpose of this study was to conduct a systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to determine whether differences in surgical times, adverse events, and implant positioning existed between manual, robotic-assisted, and computer navigation THA.

Methods: PubMed, OVID/MEDLINE, and Cochrane databases were queried for RCTs comparing robotic-assisted versus manual THA and computer navigation versus manual THA at a minimum 1-year follow-up.

Narrative analysis is well established as a means of examining the subjective experience of those who suffer chronic illness and cancer. In a study of perceptions of the outcomes of treatment of cancer of the colon, we have been struck by the consistency with which patients record three particular observations of their subjective experience: (1) the immediate impact of the cancer diagnosis and a persisting identification as a cancer patient, regardless of the time since treatment and of the presence or absence of persistent or recurrent disease; (2) a state of variable alienation from social familiars, expressed as an inability to communicate the nature of the experience of the illness, its diagnosis and treatment; and (3) a persistent sense of boundedness, an awareness of limits to space, empowerment and available time. These subjectivities were experienced in varying degree by all patients in our study.

Introduction: Continuity is valued by patients, clinicians, and health systems for its association with higher-value care and satisfaction. Continuity is a commonly cited reason for entering primary care; however, it is difficult to achieve in residency settings. We sought to determine the effect of transitioning from a traditional "block" (13 4-week rotations per year) to a "clinic-first" (priority on outpatient continuity) curriculum on measures of continuity in our family medicine residency.

Establishing Clinically Significant Outcomes After Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction in Pediatric Patients.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to establish clinically significant outcome values for the minimal clinically important difference (MCID) and patient acceptable symptomatic state (PASS) after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) in the pediatric and adolescent populations and to assess factors that were associated with achieving these outcomes.

Methods: Patients between the age of 10 to 21 who underwent ACLR between 2016 and 2018 were identified and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) were collected preoperatively and postoperatively. Intraoperative variables collected included graft choice, graft size (diameter), graft fixation method, and concomitant procedures.

Austria's Digital Vaccination Registry: Stakeholder Views and Implications for Governance.

In this study, we explore the recent setup of a digital vaccination record in Austria. Working from a social-scientific perspective, we find that the introduction of the electronic vaccination pass was substantially accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our interviews with key stakeholders ( = 16) indicated that three main factors drove this acceleration.

Phenotypic analysis of the pediatric immune response to SARS-CoV-2 by flow cytometry.

Here, we present and evaluate the performance of a two-panel (16- and 17 parameter) flow cytometry-based approach for immune phenotypic analysis of cryopreserved PBMC samples from children after SARS-CoV-2 infection.
