We designed and fabricated a dynamic receive beamformer integrated circuit (IC) in 0.35-μm CMOS technology. This beamformer IC is suitable for integration with an annular array transducer for high-frequency (30-50 MHz) intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging.

In this paper, the nonlinear dynamical phenomenon associated with a silicon neuron are described. The neuron has one transient sodium (activating and inactivating) channel and one activating potassium channel. These channels do not model specific equations; instead they directly mimic the desired voltage clamp responses.

This paper describes a low-power approach to capacitive sensing that achieves a high signal-to-noise ratio. The circuit is composed of a capacitive feedback charge amplifier and a charge adaptation circuit. Without the adaptation circuit, the charge amplifier only consumes 1 μW to achieve the audio band SNR of 69.
