This study aims to systematically review and conduct a meta-analysis of current literature on the intersection between eye-tracking and artificial intelligence (AI) in detecting dementia.
Method: PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane, and IEEE databases were searched up to July 2023.
Objective: To assess the feasibility and possible impacts of implementation of systematic non-pharmacological interventions to reduce the level of prescribing of opioid and gabapentinoid analgesics for chronic non-cancer pain (CNCP), particularly high-dose prescriptions, through a proof-of-concept study in a deprived area (second lowest decile) primary care practice in North-East England.
Participant: Twenty-five primary care staff (clinical and non-clinical) of which 18 clinicians received the intervention.
Intervention Used In This Study Practice Known As Gott Gabapentinoid And Opioid Toolkit: All clinicians received an educational skills programme to support patient pain self-management, tailored on the clinicians' self-assessment of their learning needs, embedding both clinician skill learning and patient self-care resources for rapid access within consultations into a GP clinical management computer system.
Introduction: Vanadium is a widely used transition metal in industrial applications, but it also poses significant neurotoxic and environmental risks. Previous studies have shown that exposure to vanadium may lead to neurodegenerative diseases and neuropathic pain, raising concerns about its impact on human health and the ecosystem. Exposure to heavy metals, such as vanadium, poses an ongoing environmental and health threat, heightening the risk of neurodegenerative disorders. While several compounds have shown promise in mitigating vanadium toxicity, their efficacy is limited. Facial phenotyping for medical prediagnosis has recently been successfully exploited as a novel way for the preclinical assessment of a range of rare genetic diseases, where facial biometrics is revealed to have rich links to underlying genetic or medical causes. In this paper, we aim to extend this facial prediagnosis technology for a more general disease, Parkinson's Diseases (PD), and proposed an Artificial-Intelligence-of-Things (AIoT) edge-oriented privacy-preserving facial prediagnosis framework to analyze the treatment of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) on PD patients. In the proposed framework, a novel edge-based privacy-preserving framework is proposed to implement private deep facial diagnosis as a service over an AIoT-oriented information theoretically secure multi-party communication scheme, while data privacy has been a primary concern toward a wider exploitation of Electronic Health and Medical Records (EHR/EMR) over cloud-based medical services.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there were differences in mental health, sleep and alcohol use between retired elite and amateur rugby code players and non-contact athletes, and to explore associations with sports-related concussion.
Methods: 189 retired elite (ER, n = 83) and amateur (AR, n = 106) rugby code players (rugby union n = 145; rugby league n = 44) and 65 former non-contact athletes (NC) were recruited to the UK Rugby Health Project between 2016 and 2018.
