this study aims to evaluate the survival outcomes of patients suffering from head and neck synovial sarcoma (HNSS), especially in relation to patients with a localized disease at diagnosis. this retrospective chart review includes 57 patients diagnosed with primary HNSS between 1981 and 2020 who presented with a localized disease at diagnosis. Overall survival (OS) from diagnosis, local recurrence-free survival (LRFS), and metastasis-free survival (MFS) from the end of the primary tumor treatment are estimated.

Background: Two-stage revision for periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) in patients who have undergone segmental replacement of the distal femur or proximal tibia after tumor resection can be associated with considerable morbidity, pain, and risk of complications because the procedure often results in removal of long, well-fixed stems from the diaphysis. A less-aggressive surgical approach, such as debridement, antibiotics, and implant retention (DAIR), may be attractive to patients and surgeons because of less morbidity, but the likelihood of eradicating infection in comparison to the traditional two-stage revision is not well established for oncology patients. Furthermore, the relative risk of subsequent amputation for DAIR versus two-stage revision has not been defined for this population.

To advance our understanding of physiological functions of p53 and Mdm2 in BM-MSCs, we developed traceable conditional mouse models targeting Mdm2 and/or Trp53 in vivo. Osteofibrous dysplasia is an indolent benign fibro-osseous tumor, while adamantinoma is a locally aggressive biphasic malignancy with epithelial and fibro-osseous components. Predominantly arising in the tibial diaphysis of children and young adults, both tumors are resistant to chemotherapy and radiation. Wide surgical resection is regarded as the mainstay of therapy for adamantinoma, and limb-salvage reconstructive procedures can achieve good functional outcomes, albeit with non-negligible rates of complications.
