Interventional MSK procedures: the hip.

Percutaneous musculoskeletal procedures are widely accepted as low invasive, highly effective, efficient and safe methods in a vast amount of hip pathologies either in diagnostic or in therapeutic management. Hip intra-articular injections are used for the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis. Peritendinous or intrabursal corticosteroid injections can be used for the symptomatic treatment of greater trochanteric pain syndrome and anterior iliopsoas impingement.

Cervical synovial sarcoma necessitating multiple neurosurgical procedures.

Synovial sarcoma is a rare mesenchymal tumour with the worst prognosis among soft tissue tumours. Although chemosensitive, it can only be cured by complete surgical resection, often limited by its anatomical relations. We present a patient with a cervical synovial sarcoma.

Contribution of percutaneous biopsy to the definite diagnosis in patients with suspected bone tumor.

Objectives: Percutaneous biopsy is widely used for the diagnosis of primary and secondary bone malignancies. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the contribution of percutaneous biopsy to the definite diagnosis in patients with suspected bone tumor. The secondary objective was to assess the potential diagnostic benefits of a second percutaneous biopsy when the first failed to provide the diagnosis.

Primary amyloidoma of the axis and acute spinal cord compression: a case report.

Background: Localized primary amyloidosis is a disease characterized by a single tumor and localized amyloid deposit (amyloidoma) with no evidence of generalized amyloidosis. The occurrence of an amyloidoma in the spine is rare and only three cases affecting the axis have been previously reported. We describe the case of a 79-year-old woman presenting with a mass involving the odontoid process, responsible for an acute tetraparesia.

Percutaneous Acetabular Osteoplasty.

The diagnostic value of ultrasound for musculoskeletal pathology is well recognized. Ultrasound offers a low-cost, nonionizing, readily available imaging technique for the evaluation of tendons, muscles, soft-tissue masses, cysts, and other fluid collections. These advantages also make ultrasound a valuable tool for guiding a variety of musculoskeletal interventions.
