Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to determine if the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) could predict success in reaching the summit of Denali.
  • Out of 121 participants, 60% reached the summit, but no significant link was found between postexercise vital signs and summit achievement.
  • While summiters walked further in the 6MWT (617 m vs. 560 m), this finding was not strong enough to establish 6MWT as a reliable predictor after considering other factors like age and sex.
