Reactive oxygen species (ROS) have an important role in cellular biology, being involved, in a way that depends on their levels, in cell signaling processes or in oxidative stress, probably associated with neurodegenerative and other diseases. Most of the studies about ROS formation were performed in ischemic conditions, and thus, there is limited knowledge about ROS formation in less severe hypoxic conditions. This review aims to present scientific knowledge regarding the demarcated opacities of molar incisor hypomineralisation (MIH) and factors that clarify the occurrence of posteruptive enamel breakdown. The demarcated opacities have distinct boundaries with the adjacent nonaffected enamel and may vary in color among white, creamy, yellow, and brownish. The hypomineralised enamel is more porous and less organized than the nonaffected enamel.

Multiple system atrophy (MSA) and Parkinson's disease (PD) are caused by misfolded -synuclein spreading throughout the central nervous system. While familial PD is linked to several point mutations in -synuclein, there are no known mutations associated with MSA. Our previous work investigating differences in -synuclein misfolding between the two disorders showed that the familial PD mutation E46K inhibits replication of MSA prions both and providing key evidence to support the hypothesis that -synuclein adopts unique strains in patients.

Liquid biopsies have emerged as a promising tool for the detection of metastases as well as local and regional recurrence in lung cancer. Management of advanced melanoma remains challenging, with most BRAF (B-Raf proto-oncogene, serine/threonine kinase)-mutated metastatic patients relapsing within a few months upon MAPK inhibitors treatment. Modulation of tumor-derived extracellular vesicle (EVs) cargo with enrichment of antitumoral molecules is a promising strategy to impair tumor progression and increase treatment response. Herein, we report that restored expression of miR-195-5p, down-regulated in melanoma favoring drug resistance, increases the release of EVs enriched in the tumor suppressor miRNAs, miR-195-5p, miR-152-3p, and miR-202-3p.
