Soy extract waste, okara, is a rich source of bioactive compounds such as isoflavones, which are phytoestrogens with potential health benefits. To develop a green approach to recovering these compounds and valorizing okara, a study was developed to screen variables for the extraction of isoflavones from okara and soybean (for comparison) using Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES) composed with choline chloride ([Ch]Cl) and acetic acid (AA) ([Ch]Cl: AA, 1:2). A fractional design (2) was used to evaluate variables in the extraction of isoflavones, followed by a Central Composite Rotatable Design (CCRD).

Historical Perspective of Homeopathy in the Brazilian Public Health System.

Homeopathy was introduced in Brazil with the French doctor Benoît Jules Mure's arrival in 1840 and was officially recognised in 1980 as a medical specialty by Brazilian regulatory authorities. Public health policies played an important role in incorporating homeopathy into the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), emphasising homeopathy's coherence with SUS's fundamental principles and with other national health policies. Homeopathy is supported by the guidelines of the National Primary Health Care Policy and the National Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices, and its offer in the SUS has been recognised since 2006.

Glanders and brucellosis are zoonotic infectious diseases that affect equids in several countries worldwide. On Marajó Island (Amazon region of Brazil), Marajoara and Puruca horses, which are well adapted to the climatic and territorial adversities of the region, play a fundamental role in the local economy and in the sociocultural lives of the population. However, these animals have undergone a drastic reduction in number, markedly due to precarious veterinary care, unknown causes of morbidity and mortality, and disordered crossing with other breeds introduced to the island.

Investigation of the morphological and fractal behavior at nanoscale of patterning lines by scratching in an atomic force microscope.

In this work, the topographical effect of the scratching trajectory and the feed direction on the formation of lithographed lines on the (001) InP surface was investigated using an atomic force microscope (AFM) tip-based nanomachining approach. Nanoscratching tests were carried out using the sharp face of a diamond AFM tip in contact mode. From the topographic maps obtained by AFM, several morphological and fractal parameters were obtained and analyzed.

Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, 1,058 CBCT exams were analyzed, and data regarding the presence and quantity of calcifications, the affected side, any degenerative alterations of the condyle, sex, and age were collected. To evaluate associations between the presence of calcifications and sex or age, the Fisher exact test or the Spearman correlation coefficient, respectively, was used.
