Methods: In this study, gold nanoparticles (S4-GoNPs) were synthesized by a simple and environmentally friendly technique using an aqueous extract of jamun leaves (JLE) as an effective capping, stabilizer, and reducing agent. JLE was screened for the presence of phytochemicals followed by synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of their antibacterial, antidiabetic, antioxidant, and photocatalytic degradation potentials using standard established procedures.
In the realm of organic synthesis, direct C-H alkynylation with arylacetylenes has remained a daunting challenge due to competing annulations or alkenylation. Addressing this long-standing issue, herein we demonstrate the merging of copper and photocatalysis to achieve the elusive C-H alkynylation of benzamides using arylacetylenes or arylpropiolic acids. Unlike conventional copper-mediated C-H activations, our protocol circumvents the need for high temperatures and stoichiometric amounts of copper salts or metal/non-metal oxidants.

The aims and objectives were to assess the clinical symptoms, pulmonary functions, and radiological changes and to assess the cardio-vascular complications in post-COVID-19 patients.
Methods: This observational study was conducted in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine in collaboration with the Department of Cardiology, SCBMCH, Cuttack, from March 2021 to August 2022 on 75 post-COVID-19 patients with respiratory symptoms from 4 weeks to 2 years after treatment for COVID-19 infection.
A cost-effective chemical prelithiation solution, which consists of Li, polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), and solvent, is developed for a model hard carbon (HC) electrode. Naphthalene and methyl-substituted naphthalene PAHs, namely 2-methylnaphthalene and 1-methylnaphthalene, are first compared. Grafting an electron-donating methyl group onto the benzene ring can decrease electron affinity and thus reduce the redox potential, which is validated by density functional theory calculations.
