The current study investigated the impact of nutmeg essential oil (NEO) and tea tree essential oil (TTEO) on the preservation of raw chicken fillets during nine days of refrigerated storage study. The primary aim was to explore the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of these essential oils (EOs) and assess their ability to extend the shelf life of poultry meat. Considering the low-level dose detection requirement for neutron and γ radiation in cancer therapy, synthesis and exploratory studies have been performed on a newly developed phosphor LiAlO:Gd. Our results reveal that the presence of both Li and Gd makes it sensitive to both gamma and thermal neutrons. The applicability of LiAlO:Gd for beta, gamma, and neutrons in both thermally stimulated and optically stimulated modes has been verified by extensive experiments followed by kinetic parametric evaluation with theoretical calculations.

In this study, we report a new syringe aldehyde-derived hydrazinyl-imidazole based fluorescent sensor (L) for sensitive detection of different inorganic quenchers (halide ions, bicarbonate ion, sulphide ion and transition metal ions). The chromophore (L) was obtained in good yield by the 1:1 condensation reaction of 2-hydrazino-4,5-dihydroimidazole hydrobromide and 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxy benzaldehyde. L exhibited strong fluorescence in the visible region (around 380 nm) and its interaction with different quenchers was studied in details via fluorescence technique.

Owing to the unique 4f-5d transitions and the involvement of 5d electrons, the divalent europium (Eu) ion is extensively used as a dopant ion in luminescent materials for phosphor-converted light emitting diodes (pc-LEDs) and other technological applications. Earlier reports in most of the cases have shown that the reduction of Eu to Eu requires very high temperatures and large hydrogen flux. In this study, a co-doping strategy with higher valent U ions was utilized to successfully stabilize Eu ions in the LiBO (LTB) host with both the BO and BO network in low H flux of only 8%.

An epidemiological study was performed to determine the role of dogs and ticks infesting dogs in the transmission of Q fever in humans and animals from April 2019 to March 2020 in the northeastern hill states of India. In total, 245 pet and stray dogs irrespective of age or sex were sampled, without specific inclusion or exclusion criteria. In total, 478 ticks belonging to three species were detected, namely Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus and Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum.
