Background And Purpose: Sotos syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant condition caused by pathogenic mutations in the gene that presents with craniofacial dysmorphism, overgrowth, seizures, and neurodevelopmental delay. Macrocephaly, ventriculomegaly, and corpus callosal dysmorphism are typical neuroimaging features that have been described in the medical literature. The purpose of this study was to expand on the neuroimaging phenotype by detailed analysis of a large cohort of patients with genetically proved Sotos syndrome.

Human serum albumin (HSA) effectively binds to compounds having different molecular weight and thus facilitates their distribution in the living organisms. Aims: We examined the effectiveness of a novel cardiopulmonary management wearable sensor (worn for less than 5 mins) at measuring congestion and correlated the device findings with established clinical measures of congestion.

Methods And Results: We enrolled three cohorts of patients: (1) patients with heart failure (HF) receiving intravenous diuretics in hospital; (2) patients established on haemodialysis, and (3) HF patients undergoing right heart catheterization (RHC). The primary outcomes in the respective cohorts were a Spearman correlation between (1) change in weight and change in thoracic impedance (TI) (from enrolment, 24 h after admission to discharge) in patients hospitalized for HF; (2) lung ultrasound B-lines and volume removed during dialysis with device measured TI, and (3) pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCWP) and sub-acoustic diastolic, third heart sound (S3) in the patients undergoing RHC.

We report an efficient sustainable two-step anion exchange synthetic procedure for the preparation of choline API ionic liquids (Cho-API-ILs) that contain active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) as anions combined with choline-based cations. We have evaluated the in vitro cytotoxicity for the synthesized compounds using three different cells lines, namely, HEK293 (normal kidney cell line), SW480, and HCT 116 (colon carcinoma cells). The solubility of APIs and Cho-API-ILs was evaluated in water/buffer solutions and was found higher for Cho-API-ILs.

Herein, we have shown the interaction of an antibiotic drug ciprofloxacin (CIP) with three surface-active ionic liquids (ILs), having the same cation and different anions, namely, 1-decyl-3-methylimidazoliumtetrafluoroborate [Cmim][BF], 1-decyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide [Cmim][Br], and 1-decyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride [Cmim][Cl]. This study has been performed by exploiting various spectroscopic techniques such as steady-state fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence, and UV-visible spectroscopy.
