Chromosomal Abnormalities in Miscarriages and Maternal Age: New Insights from the Study of 7118 Cases.

Chromosomal abnormalities of the embryo are the most common cause of first-trimester pregnancy loss. In this single-center study, we assessed the frequency and the spectrum of chromosomal abnormalities in miscarriages for each year of maternal age from 23 to 44. Cytogenetic data were obtained by conventional karyotyping of 7118 miscarriages in women with naturally conceived pregnancies.

Determination of underivatized glucosamine in human plasma by high-performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection: application to pharmacokinetic study.

A simple, rapid and sensitive high-performance liquid chromatography method with electrochemical detection was developed for the determination of glucosamine in human plasma. Plasma samples were analyzed after a simple two-step procedure of protein precipitation with subsequent dilution. The chromatographic separation was performed on a Carbopack column (3 mm x 150 mm) with a mobile phase consisting of water and 200 mM sodium hydroxide.

Mössbauer study and magnetic properties of M-type barium hexaferrite doped with Co + Ti and Bi + Ti ions.

Using X-ray powder diffractions, Mössbauer spectroscopy, and magnetic measurements, the effect of complex dopants (Co2+ + Ti4+) and (Bi3+ + Ti4+) on the fine structure and magnetic properties of M-type barium hexaferrite prepared by hydroxide and carbonate precipitations has been studied. The distribution of cations over five nonequivalent positions of barium hexaferrite with magnetoplumbite structure is discussed.
