Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis of prospective and retrospective studies.

Data Sources: A systematic search from database inception until 01st February 2023 was run in Medline, Embase, Cinhal, Cochrane Library.

Reiki intervention for supporting healthcare professional care behaviors in pediatric palliative care: A pilot study.

Objectives: Pediatric healthcare professionals (HCPs) working in a palliative setting may experience challenges during their clinical practice in addressing the complex end-of-life phase of children and their families. Nurses, especially, have a frontline role in providing assistance, thereby becoming at risk of physical and psychological burden. Pediatric psychologists have an ethical responsibility to help colleagues by proposing self-care interventions that will improve their well-being and, indirectly, the work climate.

Reliability of the posterior condylar offset.

The posterior condylar offset (PCO) has been proposed as a determinant of a postoperative range of motion after total knee arthroplasty, although there is no consensus. This study aimed to demonstrate the error introduced by forcing the femoral rotation to overlap both condyles for the "true" lateral X-ray projection for the PCO measurement. We hypothesize that the angular discrepancy between the posterior femoral cortical reference plane and the posterior condylar axis plane due to rotation invalidates the acquisition of reliable measurements on X-rays.

There have been remarkable advances in knee replacement surgery over the last few decades. One of the concerns continues to be the accuracy in achieving the desired alignment. Patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) was developed to increase component placement accuracy, but the available evidence is not conclusive.

A high sample rate, wireless instrumented wheel for measuring 3D pushrim kinetics of a racing wheelchair.

In wheelchair racing, measuring pushrim kinetics such as propulsion forces and moments is paramount for improving performance and preventing injuries. However, there is currently no instrumented racing wheel that records 3D pushrim kinetics wirelessly and at a high sample rate, which is necessary for accurately analysing wheelchair racing biomechanics. In this work, we present an instrumented wheel that measures 3D kinetics at 2500 Hz.

Revision of total knee arthroplasty with the use of patient-specific instruments: an alternative surgical technique.

Introduction: Accuracy in the placement of components in revision total knee arthroplasty (R-TKA) surgery is sometimes challenging. The applicability of patient‑specific instruments (PSI) in knee surgery has progressively expanded to types of surgery other than primary arthroplasty. Could this assistive technology be used to facilitate accurate R-TKA surgery? The aim of the current manuscript is to describe this new application of PSI for revision of TKA-to-TKA and to provide a step-by-step technical guideline for use.

The Power of Reiki: Feasibility and Efficacy of Reducing Pain in Children With Cancer Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.

Reiki is a growing complementary therapy in pediatric oncology that needs evidence to become more credible among the health community. A within-subject design experiment was conducted to pilot testing the feasibility and efficacy of Reiki to provide pain relief among pediatric patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). : Pediatric patients undergoing HSCT during the inpatient phase in the Stem Cell Transplantation Unit were eligible to participate to the pilot study.

Hypersensitivity syndrome (DRESS) and meningoencephalitis associated with nevirapine therapy.

The DRESS (drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms) syndrome is a serious condition that has been reported in association with various drugs, such as allopurinol, sulfonamides and aromatic anticonvulsants. Recently the condition has been described in HIV-infected patients taking antiretroviral agents. We report the first case, to our knowledge, of DRESS syndrome complicated by meningoencephalitis associated with nevirapine therapy.

Diffuse pulmonary changes caused by gold salt therapy. Report of a case.

A case of diffuse reversible pulmonary injury, developed during gold salt therapy, is presented. The discussion deals with the difficulty of excluding other diseases capable of mimicking this clinical and radiological picture. The pathogenesis and evolution of this interstitial pneumonitis-like entity is discussed and the related literature is reviewed.

Clinical evaluation of labetalol alone and combined with chlorthalidone in essential hypertension: a double-blind multicentre controlled study.

In a multicentre, double-blind, crossover, placebo-controlled study, the antihypertensive effect of labetalol 100 mg and chlorthalidone 10 mg, given alone or in combination, has been assessed in 32 hypertensive patients. The combination had a greater effect in reducing blood pressure than did its separate components. This was particularly evident after exercise.
